< em > Glycine max < /em > Fermented by a Novel Probiotic, < em > Bifidobacterium animalis < /em > subsp. < em > lactis < /em > LDTM 8102, Increases Immuno-Modulatory Function
J Microbiol Biotechnol. 2022 Sep 28;32(9):1146-1153. doi: 10.4014/jmb.2206.06038. Epub 2022 Aug 30.ABSTRACTMany probiotic species have been used as a fermentation starter for manufacturing functional food materials. We have isolated Bifidobacterium animalis subsp. lactis LDTM 8102 from the feces of infants as a novel strain for fermentation. While Glycine max has been known to display various bioactivities including anti-oxidant, anti-skin aging, and anti-cancer effects, the immune-modulatory effect of Glycine max has not been reported. In the current study, we have discovered that the extract of Glycine max fermented with...

Response of soybean (Glycine max L.) seedlings to polystyrene nanoplastics: Physiological, biochemical, and molecular perspectives
Environ Pollut. 2022 Sep 23:120262. doi: 10.1016/j.envpol.2022.120262. Online ahead of print.ABSTRACTMICRO: and nanoplastics are new generation contaminants of global concern. It is important to evaluate the effects on edible products due to the presence of micro- and nano-sized plastics in the treated wastewater. A hydroponic experiment was carried out to explore the effect of polsytrene nanoplastics (PS-NPs; 20 nm) at different concentrations (0, 12.5, 25, and 50 mg L-1) on Glycine max L. (soybean) seedlings for 7-days. In the current study, firstly the uptake of PS-NPs by Glycine max L. (soybean) roots were confirmed by...

Genes, Vol. 13, Pages 1732: Integrative System Biology Analysis of Transcriptomic Responses to Drought Stress in Soybean (Glycine max L.)
In this study, we applied several transcriptome datasets obtained from soybean plants under drought stress in comparison to those grown under normal conditions to identify novel drought-responsive genes and their underlying molecular mechanisms. We found 2168 significant up/downregulated differentially expressed genes (DEGs) and 8 core modules using gene co-expression analysis to predict their biological roles in drought tolerance. Gene Ontology and KEGG analyses revealed key biological processes and metabolic pathways involved in drought tolerance, such as photosynthesis, glyceraldehyde-3-phosphate dehydrogenase and cytok...

Metabolomics as a Prospective Tool for Soybean ( < em > Glycine max < /em > ) Crop Improvement
Curr Issues Mol Biol. 2022 Sep 12;44(9):4181-4196. doi: 10.3390/cimb44090287.ABSTRACTGlobal demand for soybean and its products has stimulated research into the production of novel genotypes with higher yields, greater drought and disease tolerance, and shorter growth times. Genetic research may be the most effective way to continue developing high-performing cultivars with desirable agronomic features and improved nutritional content and seed performance. Metabolomics, which predicts the metabolic marker for plant performance under stressful conditions, is rapidly gaining interest in plant breeding and has emerged as a po...
