Role of artificial intelligence and machine learning in the diagnosis of cerebrovascular disease
ConclusionThe implementation of AI and ML algorithms to supplement clinical practice has conferred a high degree of accuracy, efficiency, and expedited detection in the clinical and radiographic evaluation and management of ischemic and hemorrhagic strokes, AVMs, and aneurysms. Such algorithms have been explored for further purposes of prognostication for these conditions, with promising preliminary results. Further studies should evaluate the longitudinal implementation of such techniques into hospital networks and residency programs to supplement clinical practice, and the extent to which these techniques improve patient...

Modulation of ipsilateral motor evoked potentials during bimanual coordination tasks
DiscussionThe upregulation of iMEPs during common-goal cooperative tasks shows a functional relevance of ipsilateral motor control in bimanual movements. The paired-pulse TMS protocol is a reliable method to elicit iMEPs in healthy participants and can give new information about neural control of upper limb movements. With this work we contribute to the research field in two main aspects. First, we describe a reliable method to elicit ipsilateral motor evoked potentials in healthy participants which will be useful in further advancing research in the area of upper limb movements. Second, we add new insight into the motor c...

Comparing the Symptomatology of Post-stroke Depression with Depression in the General Population: A Systematic Review
AbstractPrevious research into the phenomenological differences of post-stroke depression (PSD) has typically focused on comparisons of symptom profiles between stroke and non-stroke population controls. This systematic review aimed to synthesize these findings with results from other methodological approaches that contribute to an understanding of phenomenological differences. Articles were identified via a systematic search of seven databases and additional manual searching. A narrative synthesis approach was adopted because of the high methodological heterogeneity. Twelve articles comparing the symptomatology of depress...
