Conclusion The high prevalence of comorbidities in patients with stroke indicates the need for therapies in preclinical studies that take into account these comorbidities in order to avoid failures in translation to the patient. ZL006 promotes migration and differentiation of transplanted neural stem cells in male rats after stroke
In this study, we transplanted exogenous NSCs into the ipsilateral hemisphere of male rats in combination with ZL006 treatment after ischemic stroke. We show that ZL006 treatment facilitates the migration of transplanted NSCs into the ischemia‐injured area and promotes neuronal differentiation of these cells, which is not due to a direct effect of ZL006 on exogenous NSCs but is associated with increased phosphorylation of cAMP response element–binding protein (CREB) in neurons and favorable microenvironment. Matched-Sibling Stem Cell Transplantation and Stroke in Children With SCA
Stroke is one of the most devastating complications of sickle cell anemia (SCA), and risk of stroke starts very early in life. Before screening techniques were available, 11% of children with homozygous SCA had ischemic stroke by their 20th birthday. Although most children with SCA will have neurologic recovery after stroke, approximately one-third will have long-term neurologic sequelae, including motor impairment. Moreover, children with SCA who have had a stroke often have neurocognitive impairment and difficulties with academic performance.

Conclusions Despite the above limitations, we indicate that the protective mechanism of CTs against OGD/R damage might exert via inhibiting neuron apoptosis and attenuating BBB disruption. Furthermore, we also clarified that CTs inhibited neuronal apoptosis possibly by blocking the activation of MAPK signaling pathways, and CTs alleviating BBB disruption may associated with the regulation of TJPs and MMP-9 in our experiment. Results of surgical aortic valve replacement and transapical transcatheter aortic valve replacement in patients with previous coronary artery bypass grafting
CONCLUSIONS Reported differences in mortality and morbidity after TaTAVR and RAVR reflect differences in baseline risk profiles. Given the lower trend for renal complications, patients at higher perioperative renal risk might be better served by TaTAVR.

Pretransplant and perioperative predictors of early heart transplantation outcomes.
Conclusion. Pretransplant predictors of adverse outcome after heart transplantation were recipient age, lower BMI, ischemic cardiomyopathy, reoperation and diabetes. Postoperative predictors of mortality were inferior donor heart hemodynamics, epinephrine use, and serum lactate concentrations. Non-survivors were more likely to require re-sternotomy, MCS, and RRT. Comparison of the differentiation of dental pulp stem cells and periodontal ligament stem cells into neuron-like cells and their effects on focal cerebral ischemia.
In this study, the in vitro differentiation of DPSCs and PDLSCs into neuron-like cells was evaluated. Then, we established a rat model of cerebral ischemia. DPSCs or PDLSCs were administered to animals, and the therapeutic effects of these two types of cells were investigated. The results showed that PDLSCs had a higher differentiation rate than DPSCs. Immunofluorescence studies showed that the expression of the neuronal differentiation marker Thy-1 was higher in PDLSCs than in DPSCs, and other gene markers of neuronal differentiation showed corresponding trends, which were confirmed by western blot analysis.
