Thoracic Aortic < sup > 18 < /sup > F-Sodium Fluoride Activity and Ischemic Stroke in Patients With Established Cardiovascular Disease
CONCLUSIONS: In patients with established cardiovascular disease, thoracic aortic 18F-sodium fluoride activity is associated with the progression of atherosclerosis and future ischemic stroke. Arterial 18F-sodium fluoride activity identifies localized areas of atherosclerotic disease activity that are directly linked to disease progression and downstream regional clinical atherothrombotic events. Dietary calcium intake and risk of stroke: a dose-response meta-analysis.

Metabolomic analysis reveals novel small molecule plasma markers of hyperacute ischemic stroke (S30.001)
Conclusions: Utilizing targeted metabolomics, we found increased Glu and PLA and decreased citrate level in AIS patients within 6 hours of stroke onset. Glu, an excitatory neurotransmitter, and PLA, a known apoptotic marker, are both found in CSF and peri-infarct zone of ischemic stroke. Citrate is not only important in energy metabolism (anaerobic glycolysis), but also binds blood calcium to prevent clot formation. Hypertension Among Hemorrhagic Stroke Patients in Northeast China: A Population-Based Study 2017-2019.
CONCLUSIONS The high prevalence of uncontrolled hypertension and high rates of blood pressure at stages 2 and 3 in patients with prior hemorrhagic stroke indicated a considerable stroke burden in northeast China. Effect of Amlodipine in Stroke and Myocardial infarction: A Systematic Review and Meta-analysis
ConclusionIn the pooled analysis of data from 12 randomised controlled trials and one double-blinded cohort study measuring the effect of CCBs, we found that the CCB amlodipine reduced the risk of stroke and MI in hypertensive patients. Superior results for amlodipine were found in ten of the 13 studies included in this meta-analysis.

Association of serum calcium levels with clinical severity of ischemic stroke at the time of admission as defined by NIHSS score: A cross-sectional, observational study
CONCLUSION: Serum ionized calcium certainly plays a role in the pathogenesis of ischemic stroke by influencing the cycle of cytotoxic events that result in ischemic cell death. In this study, a systems pharmacology strategy based on pharmacokinetic and pharmacodynamics data was applied to analyze the pharmacological effect of XNJ on stroke. Sixteen active compounds were filtered from XNJ through Drug-likeness (DL) and Brain-blood-barrier (BBB) evaluations. Positive effects of α-asarone on transplanted neural progenitor cells in a murine model of ischemic stroke
Conclusionα-asarone may promote NPC proliferation and differentiation into neuron-lineage cells by activating β-catenin, cyclin D1, and ERK. Moreover, α-asarone treatment facilitated neurofunctional recovery after NPC transplantation in a murine model of ischemic stroke.
