Comparison of aspirin and P2Y12 inhibitors for secondary prevention of ischaemic stroke: A systematic review and meta-analysis
CONCLUSION: This meta-analysis suggests that P2Y12 inhibitors are more effective than aspirin in preventing recurrent ischaemic stroke among ischaemic stroke patients despite the absence of any effect on a new ischaemic or haemorrhagic stroke, a new clinical vascular event, all-cause death, and major or minor bleeding events.PMID:35619249 | DOI:10.2174/2772432817666220526162144

Dual Antiplatelet Therapies and Causes in Minor Stroke or Transient Ischemic Attack: A Prespecified Analysis in the CHANCE-2 Trial
CONCLUSIONS: In this prespecified analysis of the CHANCE-2 trial, the efficacy and safety of ticagrelor-aspirin versus clopidogrel-aspirin in preventing new stroke were consistent in patients with different causes. Abstract Chronic kidney disease (CKD), defined as reduced glomerular filtration rate and/or proteinuria, is a serious worldwide health problem. The incidence and prevalence of CKD are increasing with age, and patients with CKD are a population at very high risk for developing stroke. CKD may increase the risk for incident stroke independent of conventional stroke risk factors. New data from a study of Boston Scientific (NYSE:BSX)’s Watchman left atrial appendage closure device reports positive results in a study comparing it to warfarin, an anticoagulant drug treatment, in patients with nonvalvular atrial fibrillation. Dipyrone comedication in aspirin treated stroke patients impairs outcome.
CONCLUSIONS: Dipyrone comedication in patients with stroke impairs pharmacodynamic response to aspirin. This is associated with worse clinical outcome. Acute Ischemic Stroke as a Presenting Feature of Multiple Myeloma (P3.279)
Conclusions:Stroke is a leading and preventable cause of disability in the US adult population. The majority of strokes are due to atherosclerotic vascular or cardioembolic disease. Understanding the diagnostic work up of stroke and recognizing rare etiologies like MM is important for stroke prevention. Clopidogrel and aspirin after ischemic stroke or transient ischemic attack: an updated systematic review and meta-analysis of randomized clinical trials
Conclusions: Among patients who presented with ischemic stroke/TIA, short-course clopidog rel plus aspirin immediately following the index event appears to be more effective than and as safe as monotherapy for secondary stroke prevention.

Case-crossover analysis of short-term particulate matter exposures and stroke in the health professionals follow-up study.
CONCLUSIONS: Our study provides evidence that ambient PM10 may be associated with higher risk of ischemic stroke and highlights that ischemic and hemorrhagic strokes are heterogeneous outcomes that should be treated as such in analyses related to air pollution. Aspirin in stroke patients modifies the immunomodulatory interactions of marrow stromal cells and monocytes.
CONCLUSIONS: Aspirin in acute stroke patients may modulate the secretome profile of Mo and MSCs, thus potentially modulating immune and inflammatory responses associated with stroke. The efficacy and safety of Hirudin plus Aspirin versus Warfarin in the secondary prevention of Cardioembolic Stroke due to Nonvalvular Atrial Fibrillation: A multicenter prospective cohort study.
