Rapid Response: To Scan or Not to Scan? The Utility of Noncontrast CT Head for Altered Mental Status
Conclusions The findings of this study suggest that CT scan of the head is useful in older patients, patients with symptoms concerning for stroke, or cases of sudden onset of impaired consciousness. Noncontrast CT scans of the head are not useful for other presentations of AMS.

PPAR agonists for the treatment of cardiovascular disease in patients with Diabetes
Conclusions: According to this study, Pioglitazone treatment in type 2 diabetes patients and hypersensitive Ischemic stroke patients is linked to minor ischemic stroke which is recurrent in Asian people. Pioglitazone and the telmisartan treatment have an increasing pleiotropic effect related to the higher PPAR- gamma effects. Causes of mortality in patients after first ‐ever stroke: A retrospective population‐based study
ConclusionThere are no sex differences in mortality after first-ever stroke. Elderly patients need more support and attention due to greater stroke mortality. Complete blood count, lipid profile and blood levels of urea, creatinine, and fasting blood sugar may be useful in predicting mortality after first-ever stroke.
