Neuroprotective Effect of Moxibustion on Cerebral Ischemia/Reperfusion Injury in Rats by Downregulating NR2B Expression
CONCLUSIONS: Moxibustion can improve neurological dysfunction and decrease infarction area and neuronal apoptosis caused by cerebral ischemia/reperfusion in rats. Conclusion: We observed a nonsignificant decrease in cerebral infarct size in the HDL group. The deleterious consequences of reperfusion such as hemorrhagic transformation or inflammation were not improved by HDL infusion. In acute hyperglycemia, HDLs are not potent enough to counteract the adverse effects of hyperglycemia. The addition of antioxidants to therapeutic HDLs could improve their neuroprotective capacity.

ConclusionsIPOCs have a neuroprotective effect in a DMIS animal model that reduces infarct size and nerve cell injury. This mechanism might be related to reducing inflammation and stress responses that decreases the activity of TNF and NF- κB signaling pathways.
