Stroke admission rates before, during and after the first phase of the COVID-19 pandemic
ConclusionThe period of COVID-19 lockdown was associated with a temporary reduction in total admissions of strokes. In particular, there were fewer with TIA and mild stroke. Given the need to prevent the worsening of symptoms and risk of recurrence, it is necessary to emphasise the importance to seek medical care even in states of emergency.

Effects of the COVID-19 pandemic on reperfusion therapy for acute ischemic stroke patients in Huizhou City, China
ConclusionDuring the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020, the number of AIS patients receiving reperfusion therapy significantly decreased when compared to the same period in 2019. The patients ’ condition increased severity, ODT increased, and the DNT decreased. DPT was not significant for self-visiting and ambulance patients. Moderate to severe stroke patients were more likely to utilize ambulance services.

Who is really blind in the time of coronavirus: the patient or the doctor? A rare case of Balint ’s syndrome
ConclusionDuring SARS-CoV2 pandemic, Italian physicians were forced to work with less instrumental diagnostic resources, relying on their clinical knowledge mostly. The aim of this case report is to highlight the importance of performing a precise neurological evaluation, particularly during these challenging times: it might avoid incorrect diagnosis and favour the discovery of rare clinical diseases.

Image-guided delayed recanalization of middle cerebral artery occlusion
We report a case of a 56-year-old patient who received mechanical thrombectomy 96 h after the onset of symptoms by diffusion/perfusion imaging. The application of advanced neuroimaging and analytical software can accurately estimate viable brain tissue, which enables clinicians to implement individualized therapeutic strategies for patients with acute stroke.

COVID-19 presenting with agraphia and conduction aphasia in a patient with left-hemisphere ischemic stroke
We report on LA, a patient who was affected by a left-hemisphere ischemic stroke, probably because of SARS-CoV-2. The patient showed a highly specific neuropsychological profile characterized by severe agraphia and some signs of conduction aphasia. All other cognitive and sensorimotor functions remained intact. We sustain that specific neuropsychological signs can be observed in patients with COVID-19. Therefore, in-depth and comprehensive neuropsychological assessment should be included to better explore and qualify the neuropsychological consequences of COVID-19. Breaking the ice to improve motor outcomes in patients with chronic stroke: a retrospective clinical study on neuromodulation plus robotics
Discussion and conclusionThis is the first trial with dstDCS coupled with RAGT in chronic stroke patients with gait impairment. When timely coupled with RAGT, dstDCS may be considered an effective tool for the recovery of lower limb function in patients with first unilateral stroke in the chronic phase. Moreover, our data suggest the ductility of dstDCS concerning RAGT timing, thus making this intervention suitable in a neurorehabilitation setting and well adaptable to patients ’ needs.

Intracranial hemorrhage in coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) patients
ConclusionAlthough relatively uncommon among COVID-19 patients, ICH is associated with a high mortality rate. Early identification of patients at risk of developing ICH, particularly with comorbid conditions and on anticoagulant therapy, may be important to improve outcomes.
