Fibrinogen depletion and intracerebral hemorrhage after thrombolysis for ischemic stroke: a meta-analysis
ConclusionsFibrinogen depletion significantly increases the risk of ICH after IVT for acute ischemic stroke. Routine fibrinogen assessment might be considered to identify people at higher risk of ICH. As fibrinogen repletion is feasible, trials should investigate its efficacy in preventing ICH, potentially increasing the net benefit profile of IVT in acute ischemic stroke.

Crossed cerebellar diaschisis after acute ischemic stroke detected by intravoxel incoherent motion magnetic resonance imaging
ConclusionsThe IVIM is feasible for the detection of CCD. This technique might provide opportunities to further investigate the pathophysiology of CCD.

N-Pep-12 supplementation after ischemic stroke positively impacts frequency domain QEEG
ConclusionA 90-day, 90 mg daily administration of N-Pep-12 had significant impact on some QEEG indicators in patients after supratentorial ischemic stroke, confirming possible enhancement of post-stroke neurorecovery. Further research is needed to consolidate our findings.

Incremental value of Alberta Stroke Program Early CT Score to collateral score for predicting target mismatch in stroke patients with extended time window or unknown onset time
ConclusionASPECTS can provide incremental information to collateral score in predicting target mismatch. If CTP scan fails, clinical decision based on ASPECTS and collateral score might be reasonable.

Characteristics of cerebral ischemic stroke based on moyamoya disease and atherosclerosis-associated intracranial arterial stenosis
ConclusionsDiffering from LAS stroke, MMD stroke mainly presents with WSI and does not feature with platelet hyper-aggregation and fragmentation of ulcer plaque. Whereby, focusing on perfusion improvement rather than antiplatelets and statins may be the predominant step in MMD-stroke correction.

Predictive value of admission neutrophil/lymphocyte ratio in symptomatic intracranial hemorrhage after stroke thrombolysis
ConclusionFor predicting SICH, NLR did not provide strong specificity and sensitivity. A precise cut-off value could not be found to predict the hemorrhagic transformation.

Albumin therapy for acute ischemic stroke: a meta-analysis
AbstractHuman serum albumin has shown remarkable efficacy in rodent models of ischemic stroke, while results from relevant clinical research on albumin therapy remain controversial. We conducted a meta-analysis of published studies to quantitatively analyze the neurofunctional outcomes of patients with ischemic stroke treated with albumin. PubMed, Embase, and Cochrane Library were searched in July 2020. A total of four studies and 1611 patients were included. The aggregated results indicated that there were 635 patients with good neurological outcomes, among which 321 patients were in the albumin group (39.8%) and 314 pati...

Effects of virtual reality in post-stroke aphasia: a systematic review and meta-analysis
ConclusionThis review demonstrated a borderline positive clinical effect of VR for the severity of language impairment when compared with conventional rehabilitation therapy. Conversely, VR had no effect on functional communication, word finding, and repetition. Further research is warranted to reach more definite conclusions.

Robotic rehabilitation for end-effector device and botulinum toxin in upper limb rehabilitation in chronic post-stroke patients: an integrated rehabilitative approach
ConclusionOur results suggest, in line with the literature, a good efficacy in the reduction of spasticity and in the improvement of the function of the UL, with the reduction of pain, adopting a rehabilitation protocol integrated with BoTN, robot-assisted training, and traditional physiotherapy.
