Safety and efficacy of recovery-promoting drugs for motor function after stroke: A systematic review of randomised controlled trials.
CONCLUSION: Candidate drug interventions promoting motor recovery post-stroke were identified, specifically selective serotonin reuptake inhibitors and levodopa; however, the high risk of bias in many trials is concerning. Drugs to improve motor function remain an important area of enquiry. Future research must focus on establishing the correct drug intervention to be administered at an optimal dose and time, combined with the most effective adjuvant physical therapy to drive stroke recovery. The efficacy and safety of pharmacological treatments for post-stroke aphasia.
Conclusions Current evidence suggests that drugs can improve the prognosis of post-stroke aphasia, such as donepezil, memantine. Donepezil has a significant effect in improving the ability of auditory comprehension, naming, repetition and oral expression. Memantine has a significant effect in improving the ability of naming, spontaneous speech and repetition. Bromocriptine showed no significant improvement in the treatment of aphasia after stroke. Co-occurrence of cadasil and a parkinsonian syndrome: a report of two cases and review of the literature
Conclusions To our knowledge this represents the first autopsy-confirmed case of CADASIL with coexistent idiopathic Parkinson’s disease in a patient with a novel NOTCH3 mutation. We also report on a new genetically confirmed case of CADASIL presenting as progressive Parkinsonism.

The effect of levodopa benserazide hydrochloride on homocysteinemia levels in patients with Parkinson's disease and treatment of hyperhomocysteinemia.
CONCLUSIONS: Oral administration of Levodopa in the treatment of PD can cause HHcy, which can result in increased occurrence of ischemic stroke. Supplementation of methylcobalamin and folic acid can effectively reduce Hcy level and thereby prevent the occurrence of ischemic stroke. PMID: 27338068 [PubMed - in process]

Combining levodopa and virtual reality-based therapy for the rehabilitation of upper limb after acute stroke: pilot study part II.
CONCLUSION: Our results suggest that VR-based therapy and pharmacotherapy may be combined for acute stroke rehabilitation. The bedside acquisition of kinematic measurements allows for an accurate assessment of the quality of limb movement, offering a sensitive clinical tool for quantifying motor recovery during the rehabilitation process after acute stroke.
