Acupuncture Treatment for Post-Stroke Dysphagia: An Update Meta-Analysis of Randomized Controlled Trials
ConclusionsOur meta-analysis provides a new evidence supporting the efficacy and safety of acupuncture in treatment to post-stroke dysphagia in short-term compared with rehabilitation or medication. More high-quality and large-scale research studies are needed.

IJERPH, Vol. 15, Pages 1292: Effects of Mind –Body Movements on Balance Function in Stroke Survivors: A Meta-Analysis of Randomized Controlled Trials
Conclusions: The study encouraging findings indicate the rehabilitative effect of a MBM intervention for balance function in stroke survivors. However, there were significant limitations in the design among several of the included trials. Additional studies with more robust methodologies are needed to provide a more definitive conclusion.

A retrospective study of neuromuscular electrical stimulation for treating women with post-stroke incontinence
This retrospective study evaluated the effect of using neuromuscular electrical stimulation (NMES) for the treatment of post-stroke urinary incontinence (PSUI) among female population in China. A total of 163 eligible patients with PSUI were included in this study. Of these, 103 patients were assigned to a treatment group, and 60 subjects were assigned to a control group. Crossed aphasia following cerebral infarction in a right-handed patient with atypical cerebral language dominance
ConclusionThe findings suggest that the patient has right-sided cerebral language dominance, or that both hemispheres have linguistic functions. Not all patients show linguistic capabilities on the side opposite hand preference. The language dominance should be predicted by a combination of clinical manifestations and functional imaging techniques.

Effects of different frequencies of repetitive transcranial magnetic stimulation in stroke patients with non-fluent aphasia: a randomized, sham-controlled study.
CONCLUSIONS: LF-rTMS and HF-rTMS are both beneficial to the recovery of linguistic function in patients with post-stroke non-fluent aphasia. LF-rTMS produced immediate benefits that persisted long-term, while HF-rTMS only produced long-term benefits. Effects of motor imagery on walking function and balance in patients after stroke: A quantitative synthesis of randomized controlled trials.
CONCLUSION: MI appears to be a beneficial intervention for stroke rehabilitation. Nonetheless, existing evidence regarding the effects of MI in patients after stroke remains inconclusive because of significantly statistical heterogeneity and methodological flaws identified in the included studies. More large-scale and rigorously designed RCTs in future research with sufficient follow-up periods are needed to provide more reliable evidence on the effects of MI in post-stroke patients.
