Case report: Utilization and efficacy of large-bore catheters in mechanical thrombectomies
This report focuses on the Zoom 0.088” large-bore catheter, which has the potential to be navigated into a large vessel for thrombus removal via aspiration, and weigh the risks and benefits of its utilization in thrombectomy patients. In this case, we discuss the use of this device for thrombectomy of a left M1 middle cerebral artery occlusion that resulted in a distal left MCA dissection and eventual loss of access to the site of the thrombus. Building Evidence on Safety of Thrombolysis for Patients Receiving Direct Oral Anticoagulants
Nearly 20% of patients with acute ischemic stroke (AIS) are undergoing direct oral anticoagulant (DOAC) treatment at the time of their stroke. Common indications for DOACs among these patients include stroke prevention from atrial fibrillation, treatment of venous and pulmonary thrombosis, and coronary and peripheral atherosclerotic disease. Vertical transmission of the disease during pregnancy was neglected according to data early in the pandemic, however, despite conflicting results from different studies, there is an increasing suspicion of vertical transmission with the rise of new fetal and neonatal cases and perinatal transmission can be higher than expected.

Thromboembolic Risks with Concurrent Direct Oral Anticoagulants and Antiseizure Medications: A Population-Based Analysis
ConclusionsAlthough CYP/P-gp-modulating antiseizure medications were associated with an increased risk of ischemic stroke when paired with DOAC in the primary analysis, such a phenomenon was not found among patients with epilepsy who took phenytoin, valproate, or levetiracetam with DOAC. Therefore, these antiseizure medication options among patients with epilepsy with concurrent DOAC should not be restricted solely based on their potential drug –drug interactions. Yet, the increased mortality during concurrent use of DOAC with phenytoin or valproate might call for caution.

Diindolylmethane Ameliorates Ischemic Stroke-Induced Brain Injury by Peripheral and Central Mechanisms
CONCLUSION: This inhibition of platelet aggregation, platelet mediated oxidative stress, and inflammation, improved blood flow, and reduced neurological deficits, brain infarction, BBB leakage, brain water content, and histopathological abnormalities indicate the preservation of brain structural integrity. Therefore, these findings conclude that DIM exhibits neuroprotection by inhibiting platelet aggregation.
