Study the Value of Interleukin-6 As Diagnostic and Predictive marker of Cardiac Events in St Segment Elevation Myocardial Infarction
ConclusionFrom this current study we revealed that: STEMI patients have increased level of interleukin-6 compared to those normal persons. Interleukin-6 may be a potentially useful marker for diagnosis of STEMI. Interleukin-6 may be helpful prognostic value for future cardiac mortality in STEMI patients. The level of interleukin-6 is not affected by the extent of myocardial damage and necrosis. Interleukin-6 is an inflammatory cytokine.Recommendations From this study we recommend the use of interleukin-6 level as good diagnostic marker for diagnosis of ST segment elevation myocardial infarction, Also this study recommend t...

Sensors, Vol. 21, Pages 5302: Automatic Detection of Short-Term Atrial Fibrillation Segments Based on Frequency Slice Wavelet Transform and Machine Learning Techniques
uang Zhou Atrial fibrillation (AF) is the most frequently encountered cardiac arrhythmia and is often associated with other cardiovascular and cerebrovascular diseases, such as ischemic heart disease, chronic heart failure, and stroke. Automatic detection of AF by analyzing electrocardiogram (ECG) signals has an important application value. Using the contaminated and actual ECG signals, it is not enough to only analyze the atrial activity of disappeared P wave and appeared F wave in the TQ segment. Moreover, the best analysis method is to combine nonlinear features analyzing ventricular activity based on the detection ...

Predictors of atrial tachyarrhythmias in adults with congenital heart disease.
CONCLUSIONS:  In patients with CHD, the main risk factors for AT are RA dilatation, high subpulmonary ventricular systolic pressure and significant tricuspid regurgitation. The presence of AT may increase the risk of adverse cardiac events. PMID: 33047943 [PubMed - as supplied by publisher]

What Are the Main Acyanotic Congenital Heart Diseases?
Discussion Congenital heart diseases (CHD) are malformations of the heart and great vessels. It occurs in about 5-8/1000 live births. Cyanotic congenital heart disease is often noted perinatally because of cyanosis, respiratory distress and/or poor feeding or other distress type problems. A review can be found here. Acyanotic congenital heart disease (ACHD) can present at birth but often is seen in older children or adults unless the lesions are severe, especially obstructive lesions. Severe lesions may also cause cyanosis and distress type problems in patients also. Shunting lesions cause problems by diverting blood flo...

A stacked LSTM for atrial fibrillation prediction based on multivariate ECGs
AbstractAtrial fibrillation (AF) is an irregular and rapid heart rate that can increase the risk of various heart-related complications, such as the stroke and the heart failure. Electrocardiography (ECG) is widely used to monitor the health of heart disease patients. It can dramatically improve the health and the survival rate of heart disease patients by accurately predicting the AFs in an ECG. Most of the existing researches focus on the AF detection, but few of them explore the AF prediction. In this paper, we develop a recurrent neural network (RNN) composed of stacked LSTMs for AF prediction, which called SLAP. This ...

Anxiety is associated with increased risk for atrial cardiopathy
This study aimed to investigate the association of anxiety with atrial cardiopathy, giving a clue to the causal relationship of this mind –heart link. This cross-sectional study analyzed 532 patients who were free of AF, atrial flutter, stroke, acute coronary syndrome and valvular heart disease. Atrial cardiopathy was defined as P-wave terminal force in lead V1 >  5000 μV·ms on electrocardiogram or severe left atrial enlargement on echocardiogram. Generalized anxiety disorder was ascertained by a score of>  17/56 on Hamilton anxiety rating scale. Multivariable logistic regression was used to explore the as...

Case Report: Malignant Ventricular Arrhythmias Mimicking Acute Coronary Syndrome in Chagas Disease.
Abstract Chronic Chagas heart disease has different clinical manifestations including arrhythmias, heart failure, and stroke. Chest pain is one of the most common symptoms and when associated with changes in the electrocardiogram, such as T-wave changes, electrically inactive areas, and segmental wall motion abnormalities, may lead to a misdiagnosis of acute coronary syndrome (ACS). Here, we describe two patients with Chagas heart disease and syncope due to sustained ventricular tachycardia who were misdiagnosed with ACS, and discuss the role of novel imaging modalities in the differential diagnosis and risk strat...

Atrial premature activity detected after an ischaemic stroke unveils atrial myopathy.
CONCLUSIONS: After an ischaemic stroke or a transient ischaemic attack, excessive APCs are associated with LA remodelling. Thus, LA dilatation and dysfunction reflect early LA myopathy, which might itself be responsible for cardioembolic stroke. PMID: 32007362 [PubMed - as supplied by publisher]

Link of ocular pseudoexfoliation syndrome and vascular system changes: results from 10-year follow-up study
ConclusionThe prevalence of the PEX increased significantly with age. The risk of the PEX was significantly higher among persons with IHD and even higher among persons with IHD and stroke. In the future, a greater understanding of the cardiovascular, metabolic, and environmental components associated with the PEX may lead to more specific lifestyle-related preventive strategies to decrease the disease burden.

Anaphylaxis-induced atrial fibrillation and anesthesia: Pathophysiologic and therapeutic considerations.
Abstract Atrial fibrillation is the most common cardiac arrhythmia in western society affecting more than 35 million individuals worldwide annually. It is a common postoperative complication and may also occur spontaneously during general and local anesthesia administration. Aging, diabetes mellitus, hypertension, and cardiovascular diseases including cardiomyopathies, congenital cardiac anomalies, heart failure, myocardial ischemia, pericarditis, previous cardiac surgery, vascular disease, and valvular heart disease are some correlated factors. Beyond age, increased incidence of atrial fibrillation has been corre...

Correlation Between Intracranial Arterial Calcification and Imaging of Cerebral Small Vessel Disease
Conclusion: Intracranial artery calcification is common in patients with ischemic cerebrovascular disease and the intracranial carotid artery is most frequently affected. Intracranial arterial calcifications might be associated with imaging markers of SVD and are highly correlated with WMHs, lacunes, and CMBs. Quantification of calcification on CT provides additional information on the pathophysiology of SVD. Intracranial arterial calcification could act as a potential marker of SVD. Introduction Atherosclerosis is a systemic vascular process that is considered a major cause of cerebrovascular and cardiovascular di...
