Functional and hemodynamic result with the PASCAL Ace percutaneous mitral valve repair: a single-center experience

Initial Clinical Experience with Mitral Valve Translocation for Secondary Mitral Regurgitation.

Comparison of expected and observed outcomes for septal myectomy in hypertrophic obstructive cardiomyopathy
ConclusionsSeptal myectomy, performed in a tertiary referral center, had a 30-day mortality rate of 0% and low morbidity rate. There was no difference between observed myectomy mortality and STS Calculator predicted risk for AVR and MV repair. It is possible that a larger sample could reveal lower mortality than STS prediction.

Long ‐term outcomes for different surgical strategies to treat left ventricular outflow tract obstruction in hypertrophic cardiomyopathy
ConclusionSeptal myectomy is a safe procedure resulting in symptomatic improvement in the majority of patients. The annual incidence of non‐fatal disease‐related complications after surgical treatment of LVOTO is relatively high. Patients who underwent MV replacements had poorer outcomes with less symptomatic benefit in spite of a similar reduction in LVOT gradients.

The Effects of Levosimendan and Sodium Nitroprusside Combination on Left Ventricular Functions After Surgical Ventricular Reconstruction in Coronary Artery Bypass Grafting Patients.
CONCLUSION: This study showed that LS and SNP combination impressive increase in left ventricular systolic and diastolic functions including LVEF. Patients Selection for Left Ventriculoplasty and Mitral Valve Surgery in Non-Ischemic Dilated Cardiomyopathy
The operative indication for dilated cardiomyopathy (DCM) is controversial. Subjects were 20 non-ischemic DCM patients. Left ventriculoplasty and mitral valve repair were conducted. Cardiac index derived from forward stroke volume significantly increased after surgery (from 1.8  ± 0.6 to 2.4 ± 0.6, P = .001). One-year survival rate was 58%. Slope in preload recruitable stroke work relationship (Mw) was an independent predictor for survival after surgery (HR, 0.936; 95%CI, 0.894–0.980; P = .005). Cut-off value of Mw for one-year survival was 42.

Changes in ventricular remodelling and clinical status during the year following a single administration of stromal cell-derived factor-1 non-viral gene therapy in chronic ischaemic heart failure patients: the STOP-HF randomized Phase II trial
Conclusions The blinded placebo-controlled STOP-HF trial demonstrated the safety of a single endocardial administration of pSDF-1 but failed to demonstrate its primary endpoint of improved composite score at 4 months after treatment. Through a pre-specified analysis the STOP-HF trial demonstrates the potential for attenuating LV remodelling and improving EF in high-risk ischaemic cardiomyopathy. The safety profile supports repeat dosing with pSDF-1 and the degree of left ventricular remodelling suggests the potential for improved outcomes in larger future trials.

Stem Cell Factor Gene Transfer Improves Cardiac Function After Myocardial Infarction in Swine Original Articles
Conclusions— Local overexpression of SCF post-MI induces the recruitment of c-kit+ cells at the infarct border area acutely. In the chronic stages, SCF gene transfer was associated with improved cardiac function in a preclinical model of ischemic cardiomyopathy.

048 * safety and feasibility of a new adjustable mitral annuloplasty ring: a multicentre european experience
Conclusion: We conclude that implantation of this new adjustable annuloplasty ring is safe and effective. Late adjustment of this ring is feasible and may allow addressing recurrent MR. Additional experience and long-term follow-up are required to establish the clinical value of this technology.
