Nomograms Based on the Advanced Lung Cancer Inflammation Index for the Prediction of Coronary Artery Disease and Calcification
CONCLUSIONS: ALI is an independent predictor of CAD, CAC, and CAD with CAC. Our ALI-based nomograms can provide accurate and individualized risk predictions for patients with suspected CAD.PMID:34786986 | DOI:10.1177/10760296211060455

Estimation of long-term and short-term health effects attributed to PM < sub > 2.5 < /sub > standard pollutants in the air of Ardabil (using Air Q  + model)
Environ Sci Pollut Res Int. 2021 Nov 11. doi: 10.1007/s11356-021-17303-x. Online ahead of print.ABSTRACTClean air is considered as a basic need for human health. However, air pollution is a significant threat to health in developed and developing countries. The aim of this study was to estimate the health effects attributed to PM2.5 pollutants in the air of Ardabil in 2018 (using Air Q + model). Raw data related to particles were collected from the Department of Environment and processed in Excel software and converted into an input file of the Air Q + model, and in the final stage, by considering appropriate epidemiologic...

Diagnostic reference levels and median doses for common clinical indications of CT: findings from an international registry
ConclusionsDRLs for CTDIvol and DLP for EUCLID clinical indications from diverse organizations were established and can contribute to dose optimization. These values were usually significantly higher in the US than in Europe.Key Points•Registry data were used to create benchmarks for 10 common indications for CT identified by the European Society of Radiology.•Observed US radiation doses were higher than European for 9 of 10 indications (except chronic sinusitis).•The presented diagnostic reference levels and median doses highlight potentially unnecessary variation in radiation dose.

A brief report on incidence, radiographic feature and prognostic significance of brain MRI changes after anti-PD-1/PD-L1 therapy in advanced non-small cell lung cancer
ConclusionsBrain MRI aberrations developed after ICI treatment are not uncommon, and their manifestations vary a lot. Patients developing brain MRI aberrations tended to have better prognosis, which needed to be further investigated.

Health risk and disease burden attributable to long-term global fine-mode particles
This study investigates global spatiotemporal variations in PM2.5 using the newly developed satellite-derived PM2.5 dataset from 1998 to 2018. An integrated exposure-response (IER) model was employed to examine the characteristics of PM2.5-related deaths caused by chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), ischemic heart disease (IHD), lung cancer (LC), and stroke in adults (age≥25), as well as lower respiratory infection (LRI) in children (age≤5). The results showed that high annual PM2.5 concentrations were observed mainly in East Asia and South Asia. Over the 19-year period, PM2.5 concentrations constantly decrea...

IJERPH, Vol. 18, Pages 9859: Indoor Air Pollution Exposure of Women in Adama, Ethiopia, and Assessment of Disease Burden Attributable to Risk Factor
Conclusions: This health impact assessment illustrates that household air pollution due to solid fuel use among women in Adama leads to premature death and a substantial quantity of DALYs. Therefore, decreasing or eliminating solid fuel use for cooking purposes could prevent deaths and improve quality of life.

Sleep duration and health outcomes: an umbrella review
CONCLUSION: Inappropriate sleep duration is a risk factor for developing non-cancer conditions. Decreasing and increasing sleep hours towards extreme sleep durations are associated with poor health outcomes.PMID:34435311 | DOI:10.1007/s11325-021-02458-1
