Crocetin Imparts Antiproliferative Activity via Inhibiting STAT3 Signaling in Hepatocellular Carcinoma
In this study, we investigated the effect of crocetin on the growth of HCC cells and dissected its underlying molecular mechanism in imparting a cytotoxic effect. Crocetin suppressed proliferation, promoted apoptosis, and counteracted the invasive capacity of HCC cells. Besides, crocetin downregulated the constitutive/inducible STAT3 activation (Y705), nuclear accumulation of STAT3 along with suppression of its DNA binding activity in HCC cells with no effect on STAT5 activation. Voltage-gated sodium channel Nav1.5 promotes proliferation, migration and invasion of oral squamous cell carcinoma.
In this study, we found that Nav1.5 was highly expressed in OSCC cell lines compared with normal oral keratinocyte HOK cell line by using western blot analysis. CCK-8 assay results revealed that downregulation of Nav1.5 expression by its specific siRNA reduced proliferation of OSCC HSC-3 cells. Moreover, transwell assay results showed Nav1.5 knockdown significantly inhibited migration and invasion of HSC-3 cells. Sanguinarine Induces Apoptosis Pathway in Multiple Myeloma Cell Lines via Inhibition of the JaK2/STAT3 Signaling
In this study, we aimed to investigate the potential anti-proliferative and pro-apoptotic activities of SNG in a panel of MM cell lines (U266, IM9, MM1S, and RPMI-8226). SNG treatment of MM cells resulted in a dose-dependent decrease in cell viability through mitochondrial membrane potential loss and activation of caspase 3, 9, and cleavage of PARP. Functional analysis and clinical significance of sodium iodide symporter expression in gastric cancer
ConclusionsThese results suggest that NIS regulates tumor progression by affecting IFN signaling, and that its strong expression is related to a worse prognosis in patients with GC. These results provide an insight into the role of NIS as a mediator and/or a biomarker for GC.

Rapamycin enhances lytic replication of Epstein-Barr virus in gastric carcinoma cells by increasing the transcriptional activities of immediate-early lytic promoters.
In this study, we assessed the effects of rapamycin on EBV reactivation in gastric carcinoma cells. We found that rapamycin upregulated expression of EBV lytic proteins and increased the viral proliferation triggered by the EBV lytic inducer sodium butyrate. Reverse transcription-qPCR, luciferase activity assays, chromatin immunoprecipitation and western blotting were employed to explore the mechanism by which rapamycin promotes EBV reactivation.
