Effects of RNA interference of CTHRC1 on proliferation and apoptosis of thyroid papillary cancer TCP-1 cells < em > in vitro < /em >
Nan Fang Yi Ke Da Xue Xue Bao. 2021 Apr 20;41(4):549-554. doi: 10.12122/j.issn.1673-4254.2021.04.10.ABSTRACTOBJECTIVE: To explore the role of CTHRC1 in regulating the proliferation and apoptosis of papillary thyroid cancer cells.OBJECTIVE: Papillary thyroid cancer TPC-1 cells were transfected with a small interfering RNA (siRNA) targeting CTHRC1, with the cells transfected with a scrambled sequence as the negative control. The changes in cell proliferation and apoptosis were assessed using cell counting kit-8 (CCK-8) and flow cytometry with AV/PI double staining, respectively. The expression of c-caspase-3, c-PARP1 and pho...

miR-369 inhibits Liver Cancer progression by targeting ZEB1 pathway and predicts the prognosis of HCC patients
Increasing evidences show that microRNAs (miRNAs) are involved in the regulation of tumorigenesis, progression, recurrence and drug resistance of hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC). miR-369 works as a tumor suppressor in both lung cancer and thyroid cancer. However, the potential biological function of miR-369 in HCC is unknown. Herein, we for first found that miR-369 expression was downregulated in HCC tissues and predicted the poor prognosis of HCC patients. Forced miR-369 expression inhibited the proliferation and metastasis of HCC cells in vitro and in vivo. Mechanically, bioinformatics and luciferase reporter analysis ide...

Exosomal miR-130a-3p promotes the progression of differentiated thyroid cancer by targeting insulin-like growth factor 1
Oncol Lett. 2021 Apr;21(4):283. doi: 10.3892/ol.2021.12544. Epub 2021 Feb 12.ABSTRACTThe aim of the present study was to determine the expression and diagnostic value of exosomal miR-130a-3p in the serum of patients with differentiated thyroid cancer (DTC). Exosomes were isolated from the serum of patients with DTC and were identified using transmission electron microscopy. A novel exosomal miRNA, miR-130a-3p, was found to be significantly decreased in the serum of patients with DTC compared with those with benign thyroid tumors and healthy controls. Further study revealed that exosomal miR-130a-3p was correlated with the ...

Cancers, Vol. 13, Pages 418: Targeting the Sonic Hedgehog Pathway to Suppress the Expression of the Cancer Stem Cell (CSC) —Related Transcription Factors and CSC-Driven Thyroid Tumor Growth
The objective of our current investigation was to determine the role of the Shh pathway in regulating BMI1 and SOX2 expression in thyroid cancer and promoting thyroid tumor growth and development. Here we report that inhibition of the Shh pathway by Gli1 siRNA or by cyclopamine and GANT61 reduced BMI1 and SOX2 expression in SW1736 and KAT-18 cells, two anaplastic thyroid cancer cell lines. The opposite results were obtained in cells overexpressing Gli1 or its downstream transcription factor Snail. The Shh pathway regulated SOX2 and BMI1 expression at a transcriptional and post-transcriptional level, respectively. GANT61 tr...
