Quantitative T2 mapping accelerated by GRAPPATINI for evaluation of muscles in patients with myositis.
CONCLUSION: GRAPPATINI can significantly shorten acquisition time of T2 mapping and may potentially be applied clinically in DM and PM. ADVANCES IN KNOWLEDGE: GRAPPATINI acceleration makes T2 mapping feasible in clinical practice in providing quantitative information regarding thigh muscle inflammation in DM and PM. Neuromuscular and Muscle Metabolic Functions in MELAS Before and After Resistance Training: A Case Study
Conclusion To conclude, this study suggests a preserved plasticity in the skeletal muscle of a patient with MELAS. Corticospinal Tract Integrity and Long-Term Hand Function Prognosis in Patients With Stroke
Conclusions: The present study showed that CST integrity (at 6 months after onset) in patients with chronic stroke was related to functional hand status. Case study of an inborn error manifested in the elderly: A woman with adult ‐onset mitochondrial disease mimicking systemic vasculitis
We report a case of mitochondrial disease in an elderly woman complaining of generalized myalgia. A 69 ‐year‐old woman was admitted due to fatigue, general weakness, and a drowsy mental status. Anti-NT5c1A Autoantibodies as Biomarkers in Inclusion Body Myositis
Conclusions: Anti-NT5c1A has moderate sensitivity and high specificity for sIBM using ALBIA. The presence of anti-NT5c1A antibodies may be associated with muscle weakness. 18F-FDG PET/CT versus conventional investigations for cancer screening in autoimmune inflammatory myopathy in the era of novel myopathy classifications
Conclusion 18F-FDG PET/CT does not appear to be useful in cancer screening for AIM patients compared with conventional screening and carries potential harms associated with follow-up investigations. The risk of cancer in AIM differs by myositis-specific antibodies-defined subsets and cancer screening is likely to be indicated only in high-risk patients, particularly DM. These results, replicated in larger, multicentered studies, may carry significant consequences for optimal management of AIM and health resource utilization.

Abstract Lightning strike is an environmental electrical injury with high rates of morbidity and mortality. Lightning strike injuries are also considered to be high-voltage injuries. Respiratory injuries associated with lightning strikes include pulmonary edema, pulmonary contusion, acute respiratory distress syndrome, and pulmonary hemorrhage. In addition to direct damage, the affected patients are also exposed to secondary trauma; similarly, many other mechanisms associated with lightning injury have the same risk. Changes in Body Composition of Old Rats at Different Time Points after Dexamethasone Administration.
