Young nasopharyngeal cancer patients with radiotherapy and chemotherapy are most prone to ischaemic risk of stroke: a national database, controlled cohort study
ConclusionsPatients with nasopharyngeal carcinoma are at an elevated risk of ischaemic stroke, without significant difference among treatment modalities. The relative risk is more prominent in younger patients. Comorbidity may enhance the risk.

Fatal Embolic Stroke Due to Non-Atherothrombotic Mobile Thrombi in the Carotid Artery during Gastric Cancer Chemotherapy: An Autopsy Case Report (P01.255)
CONCLUSIONS: Multiple etiologies for ischemic stroke may exist in cancer patients. A mobile thrombus in the carotid artery should be considered as a possible mechanism for arteriogenic stroke in the clinical settings of malignancy with hypercoagulability. D-dimer > 2.785  μg/ml and multiple infarcts ≥3 vascular territories are two characteristics of identifying cancer-associated ischemic stroke patients.

Intra-arterial thrombectomy for acute ischaemic stroke patients with active cancer
ConclusionsAlthough baseline characteristics and recanalisation rate after IAT up to 24  h after stroke onset were similar between acute ischaemic stroke patients with active cancer and without any cancer, stroke-related death and short-term outcome were significantly poorer in patients with active cancer than the controls. Post-procedural haemorrhage and active cancer itself were ind ependent predictors of a decrease in functional independence at 3 months.
