The role of PET/CT in the central nervous system tumours
Magy Onkol. 2023 Dec 18;67(4):321-331. Epub 2023 Oct 6.ABSTRACTThe appearance of hybrid imaging, including PET/CT has been a huge milestone not only in the development of nuclear medicine but of the whole medical imaging. The examination with 18F-FDG, the most frequently used radiopharmaceutical has become for now one of the most important diagnostic tools in oncological patient care, applied with numerous indication goals. However, the depiction of central nervous system malignancies, especially those of the brain, with FDG PET has limitations due to high cerebral background activity, it can be used primarily in lymphoma ...

Prognostic value of Beta 2-Microglobulinin in cerebrospinal fluid in primary central nervous system lymphoma.
Dear editor, prognosis stratification of primary central nervous system lymphoma (PCNSL) is essential for patient management. Beta2-microglobulin ( β2MG) is a polypeptide chain constituting the light chain of the major histocompatibility complex (MHC), β2MG is ubiquitously expressed in nucleated cells, and high expression of β2MG was observed in stromal cells included in tumor microenvironment. In onco-hematology, β2MG blood level is associ ated with patient prognosis and residual disease in systemic lymphoma, and myeloma [1,2]. (Source: Journal of the Neurological Sciences)

Optimal dosage of rituximab for children with Burkitt lymphoma
This study aimed to explore optimal therapeutic strategies—the nu mber of doses of rituximab based on different risk groups—and also aim to investigate the clinical characteristics of Chinese pediatric BL. This study consecutively enrolled children with BL in Beijing Children’s Hospital who received French-American-British mature B-cell lymphoma 96 (FAB/LMB96) . The patients were divided into three groups: R0 group (chemotherapy alone), R6 group (chemotherapy combined with six rituximab doses), and R4 group (chemotherapy combined with four rituximab doses). The clinical characteristics and outcomes were evaluated. Un...

Impact of primary organ site of involvement by peripheral T ‐cell lymphoma not otherwise specified on survival
ConclusionOur findings suggest an association between primary organ involved by PTCL-NOS and both overall and lymphoma-specific survival even after adjusting for common variables. These results warrant validation in future prospective studies. (Source: Cancer Medicine)
