Remote blood pressure monitoring
I am an independent primary care internist. I would like to know more about setting up remote BP monitoring for my practice. Also, are there third party companies that contract with physicians to do this for them (outside of my patient panel). Would love to hear your experiences and setup tips! Thank you. Ethical question
Hello all. Former lurker, I appreciate what you guys do here. I'm interested in hearing what some attendings/more advanced students have to say as I'm an M1. I lied about a physical exam finding in a primary care clinic. It was one of my first days precepting. My preceptor asked me to recheck a blood pressure that was a little high off the automatic cuff, I couldn't for the life of me hear the Korotkoff sounds. Saw the needle wiggle a bit around 120. Anyway, I just go back to my preceptor... Read more (Source: Student Doctor Network)

advice on situation with PCP
I work in a large hospital system so interact with a lot of PCPs. Most are fine. In the past I did have a patient tell me that their PCP criticized a decision that I had made regarding a medication change. The patient was offended by the comment and found it to be unprofessional. So much so that the patient fired this person as their PCP and went to another health system for primary care. At the time, I didn't take any action against this provider. I have a patient that the same PCP referred... Read more (Source: Student Doctor Network)
