Stanford vs. UCLA vs. UCSF
Hi all, I'm very grateful to be in a position where I get to decide between these three schools, and never would have thought that I'd be faced with a decision like this. Some background: I have a strong interest in health policy work and primary care, so during medical school I would love to get involved with a mentor(s) who has experience working at this intersection. Additionally, I also have an interest in working with both underserved and disabled populations, as much of my... Read more (Source: Student Doctor Network)

Vet School Uncertainty
Hi everyone, I got accepted into my top school! I want to preface by saying that I am so grateful for this, but I think that I am getting cold feet. I decided in college that this was the path that I wanted to take and from there I gained a ton of experience in different areas of the field and I love it. Working in general practice, specifically, has been by far the most rewarding job I have ever had, despite the cons of vet med that we all know about. However, I'm nervous that I won't be... Is research experience necessary for getting into residency?
Hello, I'm a fresh D1 who is either interested in general practice, or if gratefully given a chance to specialize, ortho (only interested specialty). I did well in first semester, and of course there's no guarantee it will stay like that, but I just want to continue doing my best each day to keep more options open later. I read somewhere that I have to 1) own a private practice at some point in life, or 2) at least specialize if I want to make descent income. However, I know nothing about... Can a Direct Primary Care model be feasible for psychologists?
I was curious to see if others knew about Direct Primary Care (DPC) as a new model that circumvents insurance payers completely. Essentially, the DPC model allows for primary care services to be delivered at lowered costs and therefore, not require astronomical fees to be billed which gets passed to the patient in the form a subscription fee. Essentially the patient will pay a fee, and from the DPC providers I've seen they tend to have a tiered structure of subscription levels. Either way... Read more (Source: Student Doctor Network)
