MCG (free) vs. Pritzker (half-tuition)
*Please please do not quote reply this! Thank you for understanding!* Hi everyone! It took a while to finalize financial aid and I’m lucky to be facing two very different options that I’m seeking some external opinions on. About me: In my future, I don’t think I want to do primary care, but also not sure I have it in me to gun for something super competitive/with very long training. I could see myself doing IM and then wanting to subspecialize. Or maybe neurology? I’d like to... Read more (Source: Student Doctor Network)

UC Davis vs Keck-USC
I'm really REALLY stuck between UC Davis and Keck-USC. For context, I'm a CA resident, non-trad/first-gen with a background in public health. I'm really interested in community medicine. As of now, I'm hoping to go into OB-GYN. UC Davis: Pros Close/Very Cheap/Convenient - received a half-off scholarship Emphasis on Primary Care / Community work LOTS of opportunities for meaningful work in the community (great student run clinics) Good match list - mostly CA Seems to... Pitt vs. UCSD!
Hello! I received really thoughtful advice on my last post here, so I thought I would come back again, this time with the final two options. If you have pertinent advice for me, that would be amazing! Pitt Pros Likely better research opportunities Great concentrated clinical opportunities with UPMC Ranked higher in research and primary care (may be an important factor with everything going P/F) Cons Starting new curriculum for my year (daily 8AM-12PM... Should I ask this person for a letter of rec?
Hello, I'm working on getting my LORs together. One issue that's been on my mind is that I don't have a letter from any MDs - I've done plenty of shadowing, but mostly at academic centers where I got paired with a different physician (usually a resident) every time. However, there's one other potential MD letter that I've thought about asking for, but am not sure how it would work. This person is a mentor to me and has been very impactful in my life. He is a rural primary care physician... Read more (Source: Student Doctor Network)

Transitioning from hospitalist back to primary care. Help!
Hey all, I'm working on transitioning back to primary care after 2-3 years of adult hospitalist work after residency. I'm a little out of touch with key things to look for (or avoid) in primary care jobs and was hoping to get some feedback; I'm seeking 4-4.5 day work week no ob +/- peds. I'm shooting for compensation in range of 275k-300k on 20-25 patients per day plus retention/sign on/student loan repayment in the Midwest. Is this realistic? My list of things to look into so far...
