Dartmouth (Geisel) vs. Wright State vs. Cincinnati vs. Western Michigan
Geisel Pros -They value non-trads and I am non-trad -Good match list -Service oriented, which I value Cons -Expensive -Very cold (I am from a warm place and cold can be hard for me) -Small and rural location (I was hoping for a slightly bigger city) Wright State Pros -NBME exams -In Dayton, an area I really like Cons -Not as prestigious as my other options -Seems very primary care focused (I am interested in pathology) Cincinnati Pros -They have a decently large pathology... Declining Vet School
Hi everyone, I applied to vet school this past cycle after working in general practice as an assistant/tech for over two years and I got in to my top school which I am so proud of! However, I'm thinking I may be declining the offers I got and taking a different career path. I've weighed my options again and again, gone through pros and cons, but this is still one of the hardest decisions I've ever had to make. Context: through my experience in practice, I realized that I do not want to be... Read more (Source: Student Doctor Network)

BWH abdo fellowship
Hey! I am a Canadian radiology resident interested in applying to this program next year. Wondering what the reputation is like or if anyone has heard positive/negative things. I think it seems great though my only concern is that some of the procedures highlighted on their web page are quite advanced (RFA, cryo), which are skills I would never use in my future general practice. Please help evaluate partnership
Hi everyone, I’m having trouble deciding about buying in as a partner to my primary care practice. I’m torn between doing this and leaving for another job. I’m located in the NE outside of a major city. I currently make 215K working 4 days a week as an employee hours are 8-5 and I’m on call roughly once a week plus one weekend out of every 7 (have to work a few hours on Saturdays on those weekends). I see at least 18+ patients a day, and I frequently have to cover our walk ins clinic... Read more (Source: Student Doctor Network)

Chance me for T20s
I just want to preface this by saying I genuinely have no desire to get into a T20 school, but I'm curious what people think. My top choice is Stanford but honestly my reason is so unimaginably stupid I'm not even gonna mention it. I really don't care though and I would be very content going to my state school (NJ) or even going to a DO program tbh and most likely I want to do primary care in the future. I'm looking at the more holistic schools cuz my MCAT score isn't the best, but I'm 100%... Read more (Source: Student Doctor Network)

Child Psych or Child Neuro/NDD for Neurodevelopmental Disorders?
I am an MS3, really interested in working with kid’s with developmental disabilities and cannot decide whether I want to do it through psych or Neuro (possibly NDD program) Child Psych: residency has better work life. Will also be certified to do adult psych if I wanted to work with adults too. Nice continuity of care. I worry I will miss doing ~physical~ medicine and primary care. Really get to help with behavioral/coping skills Child neuro: much harder residency from what I have heard... Read more (Source: Student Doctor Network)

UMass vs. Tufts
UMass Chan +In-state tuition (around $100K cheaper overall) +Significantly more NIH research funding +Great match throughout Mass +Higher ranked in medicine -Primarily primary care focused -In Worcester- biggest con Tufts +In Boston +Great match list in Boston/NE +Better "Layman" presitge -High tuition+COL -Not as much research funding as UMass If the location of these schools was the same, I would definitely pick UMass. However, I have lived in a major city for the past 5 years and... Read more (Source: Student Doctor Network)

So just as the title says, I am having a bit of a problem finding physicians that I could shadow in my area. So a bit of background, I am an international student and so I don’t like actually have a good primary care physician that I regularly go to, but I am wondering like what tips do you guys have in regards to getting or finding these resources?
