Old but still good: genetic diversity of ancient pecan genotypes from southern Brazil
In this study, AFLP and S-SAP markers were employed to characterize the genetic diversity of ancient accessions of pecan from southern Brazil. The evaluated plants were selected and preserved by the farmers and are remnants of the first introduction of seedlings from the U.S.A into southern Brazil aiming at developing research towards establishing commercial orchards. High levels of genetic diversity were estimated, suggesting that these plants have an important genetic background for the establishment of a germplasm collection with a wide genetic basis, for the development of breeding programs for this fruit crop. Cluster...

Whole-genome identification and multiple abiotic stresses expression pattern profiling analysis of PLATZ transcription factor family members in Pecan (Carya illinoensis)
Int J Biol Macromol. 2023 Jul 24:125959. doi: 10.1016/j.ijbiomac.2023.125959. Online ahead of print.ABSTRACTPlant AT-rich sequence and zinc-binding (PLATZ), as a plant-specific transcription factor, have been identified and studied in a variety of plants. However, there are no reports about PLATZ proteins in Carya illinoensis (pecan). Here, 24 C. illinoensis CiPLATZs have been identified and divided into 4 groups. Gene structure, motif composition, conserved domain and cis-acting elements analysis indicated that the PLATZ gene family was highly conserved. Transcriptome data combined with qRT-PCR analysis revealed that CiPL...

Towards efficient human –machine interaction for home energy management with seasonal scheduling using deep fuzzy neural optimizer
AbstractMaintaining the records of domestic consumers ’ electricity consumption patterns is very complex task for the utilities, especially for extracting the meaningful information to maintain their demand and supply. Due to the increase in population, large amount of valuable data from the domestic sector is extracted by the smart meters and it bec omes a vulnerable issue to tackle this information in recent era. In this work, we have proposed the fuzzy deep neural optimizer to optimize the cost and power demand of the stochastic behavior of the domestic consumers. For optimization process, this optimizer considers thr...

[99mTc]-labelled anti-Programmed Death-Ligand 1 single-domain antibody SPECT/CT: a novel imaging biomarker for myocardial PD-L1 expression
ConclusionThis study is the first to report PD-L1 expression of the heart that can be quantified non-invasively without invasive myocardial biopsy, with high reliability and specificity. This technique can be applied to investigate myocardial PD-L1 expression in ICI-associated myocarditis and cardiomyopathies.Clinical trial registration PD-L1 Expression in Cancer (PECan) study (NCT04436406).https://clinicaltrials.gov/ct2/show/NCT04436406 June 18th, 2020. A Pecan-Enriched Diet Reduced Postprandial Appetite Intensity and Enhanced Peptide YY Secretion: A Randomized Control Trial
Tree nuts have been shown to have satiating qualities; however, little is known concerning the effect of pecans on measures of appetite. The purpose of this study was to examine the impact of a pecan-enriched diet on subjective, physiological, and direct measures of appetite in older adults. (Source: Clinical Nutrition ESPEN)

Viruses, Vol. 15, Pages 1029: Identification and Molecular Characterization of a Novel Carlavirus Infecting Chrysanthemum morifolium in China
In this study, a new carlavirus, tentatively named Chinese isolate of Carya illinoinensis carlavirus 1 (CiCV1-CN), was identified from chrysanthemum plants in Zhejiang Province, China. The genome sequence of CiCV1-CN was 8795 nucleotides (nt) in length, with a 68-nt 5′-untranslated region (UTR) and a 76-nt 3′-UTR, which contained six predicted open reading frames (ORFs) that encode six corresponding proteins of various sizes. Phylogenetic analyses based on full-length genome and coat protein sequences revealed that CiCV1-CN is in an evolutionary branch with chrysanthemum virus R (CVR) in the Car...
