Radiological and Not Clinical Variables Guide the Surgical Plan in Patients with Glioblastoma
Conclusions: The volume of edema and proximity to the internal capsule were identified as independent factors associated with the surgical decision. The radiological evaluation and not the clinical situation of the patient influences the decision to perform a biopsy or CR.PMID:38668045 | PMC:PMC11049408 | DOI:10.3390/curroncol31040142 (Source: Current Oncology)

Local Tumor Progression Predictive Model Based on MRI for Colorectal Cancer Liver Metastases after Radiofrequency Ablation
CONCLUSIONS: The semi-quantitative MRIAS 1MO criteria, used for post-RFA MRI appearance analysis, exhibited strong measurement reliability. Prediction models established based on overall MRIAS 1MO score (MRIS) and lesion diameter had good predictive performance for LTP in patients undergoing RFA for CRCLM treatment.PMID:38665025 | DOI:10.24976/Discov.Med.202436183.72 (Source: Discovery Medicine)

Radiogenomics and Texture Analysis to Detect von Hippel-Lindau (VHL) Mutation in Clear Cell Renal Cell Carcinoma
Curr Issues Mol Biol. 2024 Apr 8;46(4):3236-3250. doi: 10.3390/cimb46040203.ABSTRACTRadiogenomics, a burgeoning field in biomedical research, explores the correlation between imaging features and genomic data, aiming to link macroscopic manifestations with molecular characteristics. In this review, we examine existing radiogenomics literature in clear cell renal cell carcinoma (ccRCC), the predominant renal cancer, and von Hippel-Lindau (VHL) gene mutation, the most frequent genetic mutation in ccRCC. A thorough examination of the literature was conducted through searches on the PubMed, Medline, Cochrane Library, Google Sc...

Neurological Involvement in a Portuguese Cohort of IgG4-Related Disease
CONCLUSION: This study highlights the phenotypical variability of the neurological IgG4-RD. Biopsy inaccessibility reinforces the importance of new criteria for the diagnosis of this subset of patients.PMID:38669036 | DOI:10.20344/amp.20767 (Source: Acta Medica Portuguesa)
