Viruses, Vol. 15, Pages 1978: Retention in Care and Virological Failure among Adult HIV-Positive Patients on First-Line Antiretroviral Treatment in Maputo, Mozambique
Conclusions: We have identified clinical and sociodemographic determinants of loss to follow-up and in the development of virological failure for HIV-positive patients in clinical care in the MMH. Therefore, HIV programs must consider these factors to increase the screening of patients at high risk of poor outcomes and particularly to strengthen adherence counselling programs. Service-seeking behaviors among male victims of violence in five African countries: The effects of positive and adverse childhood experiences
CONCLUSION: These findings contribute to limited research on service-seeking behaviors among men and boys. While some parent-youth relationship factors were associated with higher odds of service-seeking, the outcome remained rare. Age and gender-related barriers should be addressed where post-violence care services are offered.PMID:37704546 | DOI:10.1016/j.chiabu.2023.106452 (Source: Child Abuse and Neglect)

Element Concentrations in Muscle and Liver Tissue of Two Eel Species from the Incomati River, Mozambique
Bull Environ Contam Toxicol. 2023 Sep 10;111(3):34. doi: 10.1007/s00128-023-03795-5.ABSTRACTMany rural communities in Mozambique get their income from fisheries, as well as consume fish as an inexpensive source of protein. In Mozambique, fish consumption from small-scale fisheries dependent families can range between 60 and 150 kg/person/year. Anguillid eels have important social value to vulnerable local communities in the Incomati Basin. Anguillid eels in the lower Incomati Basin are targeted for consumption, as well as cultural rituals by traditional healers. The aim of the present study was to determine trace element c...
