Pregnancy, parturition and postpartum considerations among patients with vulvar lichen sclerosus: A retrospective cross-sectional online survey
CONCLUSION: In this online survey, we found reported symptom severity remained unchanged or decreased during pregnancy, but increased postpartum. Use of topical corticosteroids decreased during pregnancy compared with before and after pregnancy. Half of the respondents reported anxiety regarding VLS and delivery.PMID:37424180 | DOI:10.1111/1471-0528.17601 (Source: BJOG : An International Journal of Obstetrics and Gynaecology)

Urinary microbiome differences between lichen sclerosus induced and non-lichen sclerosus induced urethral stricture disease
ConclusionsLS USD have significant alterations in diversity and differential abundance of urine microbiota compared to non-LS USD controls. These findings could be used to guide further investigations into the role of the urinary microbiome in LS USD pathogenesis, severity of presentation, and stricture recurrence. LASER treatment in gynaecology -A randomized controlled trial in women with symptomatic lichen sclerosus
CONCLUSION: Laser treatment with the microablative CO2 laser leads to a significant improvement for symptoms of LS. A higher dosage of laser radiation shows no benefit concerning the symptoms. We have not observed any serious adverse events during this study.PMID:37352640 | DOI:10.1016/j.ejogrb.2023.06.003 (Source: Reproductive Biology)

Expression and significance of cyclin  D1, cyclin-dependent kinase 4 and cyclin-dependent kinase inhibitor P27 in patients with non-neoplastic epithelial disorders of the vulva
Exp Ther Med. 2023 Jun 2;26(1):356. doi: 10.3892/etm.2023.12055. eCollection 2023 Jul.ABSTRACTNon-neoplastic epithelial disorders of the vulva (NNEDV) are prevalent and refractory gynecological diseases. However, the underlying pathogenesis of these diseases remain unclear. The present study aimed to investigate the expression and significance of cyclin D1, cyclin-dependent kinase 4 (CDK4) and cyclin-dependent kinase inhibitor P27 (P27) in patients with NNEDV and provide a reference for clinical diagnosis and treatment. Normal vulvar skin samples from patients with perineum repair (control group, n=20) and skin samples fro...

CO2 LASER versus clobetasol propionate 0,05% on vulvar Lichen Sclerosus treatment for climateric women: pilot-study
Introduction: The vulvar Lichen Sclerosus (LS) is a cutaneous, inflammatory, chronic disease, of probable autoimmune etiology, that affects mainly women on climacteric. The first option of treatment is the high pontent corticosteroid (clobetasol propionate 0,05). However, the CO2 LASER is being considered as a terapeutical option. (Source: Maturitas)

LASER Treatment in Gynaecology –A randomized controlled trial in women with symptomatic Lichen Sclerosus
Objective: Aim of our study was to evaluate the therapeutic effect of laser treatment in vulvar lichen sclerosus, mainly the reduction of existing symptoms as itching, burning and pain. We asked about the different outcome by using different application dosesStudy Design: We conducted a prospective randomized double-blind dose-controlled trial in our dysplasia unit specializing vulvar disorders. 67patients with active LS were included. LS was confirmed by biopsy or by the validated CSS (clinical scoring system of vulvar LS). (Source: European Journal of Obstetrics, Gynecology, and Reproductive Biology)
