Genital and extragenital oncological risk in women with vulvar lichen sclerosus: A multi-center Italian study
Lichen sclerosus (LS) is a chronic, inflammatory, mucocutaneous disorder affecting genital and extragenital skin. It is a progressive disease characterized, when symptomatic, by itching and pain. It can be associated with significant sexual impairment in both women and men [1 –3]. The exact prevalence of LS is unknown: early reports suggest a prevalence between 1:300 and 1:1000 [4], while is reported a prevalence of 1.7 % in general gynecology practice [5]. (Source: Maturitas)
