Quality of life and sexuality after bilateral sacrospinous fixation with vaginal hysterectomy for treatment of primary pelvic organ prolapse
ConclusionThis study clearly demonstrates that bilateral SSLF is able to significantly improve both QoL and sexual function in patients with POP. Improvement in sexuality and QoL after surgery may be explained by correction of avoidance of sexual intercourse due to prolapse and physical recovery. (Source: LUTS: Lower Urinary Tract Symptoms)

Flow resistive forces index (QRF): Development and clinical applicability assessment of a novel measure of bladder outlet resistance, aiming to enhance the diagnostic performance of uroflowmetry
ConclusionsQRF index accurately predicts BOO, significantly outperforming the currently widely used bladder outlet obstruction estimator Qmax. Despite potential study limitations (mainly small cohort size and lack of control group), we anticipate that with further study and proper clinical validation, QRF could become a valuable complement to uroflowmetry. Self ‐perception of symptoms, medical help seeking, and self‐help strategies of women with interstitial cystitis/painful bladder syndrome
ConclusionsIC women feel exhausted and frustrated by seeking medical attention for this incurable disease for a long time. IC women have troubled and uneasy daily lives. Being employed or engaging in activities can divert attention to alleviate symptoms. IC patient support groups allow patients to share their self ‐help experiences with interdisciplinary medical teams to provide physical and psychological treatment. How long does the effect of botulinum toxin in neurogenic patients last? An analysis of the subset of “good responders”
ConclusionThe results of our study indicate that the application of BoNT ‐A seems to be an effective and durable treatment in a large number of neurogenic patients after more than 10 years of follow‐up. However, botulinum toxin tolerance occurred in approximately 25% of patients. (Source: LUTS: Lower Urinary Tract Symptoms)

Predictive factors for persistence of preoperative overactive bladder symptoms after transvaginal mesh surgery in women with pelvic organ prolapse
ConclusionTransvaginal mesh surgery eliminates overactive bladder symptoms in about two ‐thirds of pelvic organ prolapse patients. The preoperative International Prostate Symptom Score storage subscore was the most useful predictive factor for the persistence of preoperative overactive bladder symptoms after surgery. Increased bladder sensation without detrusor overactivity revisited: Use of a five ‐grade sensory measure
ConclusionsThe present study results showed that first sensation of subjects with IBS without DO was significantly less than that of subjects with DO (P <  0.05), while the bladder capacities of the two groups were the same. An extremely low‐volume first sensation may suggest the possibility of IBS without DO. (Source: LUTS: Lower Urinary Tract Symptoms)

Transurethral resection in women with symptomatic keratinizing squamous metaplasia of urinary bladder: A retrospective study of 92 cases
ConclusionsBi ‐TUR therapy significantly relieved urinary symptoms in women with KSM. Improvement of QoL was acceptable with a success rate of 57.6%. Considering the very low complication rate, our study supported bi‐TUR as an alternative treatment for patients who are resistant to medical therapy. (Source: LUTS: Lower Urinary Tract Symptoms)

Phase I study of KRP ‐116D, a 50% w/w dimethyl sulfoxide aqueous solution, on the systemic absorption from bladder by intravesical instillation in healthy Japanese subjects
ConclusionAbsorption of DMSO from the bladder was low (16.3%), and the systemic exposure was limited. Most of the DMSO was recovered from the bladder. KRP ‐116D 50 mL was well tolerated and safe. (Source: LUTS: Lower Urinary Tract Symptoms)

Surgical results in women with detrusor underactivity and stress urinary incontinence undergoing suburethral sling procedure —Predictive factors for successful outcome
ConclusionsFor women with SUI and coexistent DU who underwent suburethral sling procedure, low IIQ ‐7 (≤6) scores and higher Qmax (≥6 mL/s) are predictors for improvement of surgical outcome. A Qmax of<6 mL/s was the only predictor for CIC after surgery. (Source: LUTS: Lower Urinary Tract Symptoms)

Relationship between frailty and lower urinary tract symptoms among community ‐dwelling adults
ConclusionsIndividuals with LUTS are potentially frailer than those without LUTS. Although the influence of frailty on LUTS is different depending on the measurement tool, attention for frailty is necessary for subjects with LUTS. (Source: LUTS: Lower Urinary Tract Symptoms)

Effects of low ‐frequency intravaginal electrical stimulation on female urinary incontinence, quality of life, and urinary symptoms: A pilot study
This study investigated the effects of a low ‐frequency home‐based incontinence therapy device on quality of life (QoL) and urinary symptoms in women with urinary incontinence. From May 2017 to February 2018, 34 patients, aged ≥ 20 years, with involuntary urine leakage>2 times/week, were recruited to this study. Patients with severe pelvic organ prolapse, pregnancy, virgin status, and psychological problems were excluded. The incontinence home ‐care device treatments were administered in 12‐minute sessions, twice daily for 8 weeks. Simultaneously, hyperthermic conditions of 35°C to 40°C and microvibrat...

A matched ‐pair analysis of patients with medium‐sized prostates (50 cc) treated for male LUTS with HoLEP or TURP
ConclusionsHoLEP is not only an attractive alternative for the enucleation of larger prostates, but it must be considered a size ‐independent technique with the potential to outdo the current reference method TURP. (Source: LUTS: Lower Urinary Tract Symptoms)
