Preliminary study on establishing the discriminant equation in pathological grading of hepatocellular carcinoma using immunohistochemical marker parameters
Conclusions: Gender, age, HepPar-1, Ki-67 (%), and Glypican-3 demonstrated higher accuracy in discriminating the pathological grades of I/II, but the ability to discriminate pathological grades III/IV was insufficient. Additionally, other factors were found to affect pathological grading. (Source: Journal of Cancer Research and Therapeutics)

MBNL1 and MRTF-A form a positive feedback loop in regulating the migration of esophageal cancer cells
Conclusions: MBNL1 may be an important regulator of metastasis and a factor associated with poor prognosis in esophageal cancer. Positive feedback regulation between MBNL1 and MRTF-A may be a potential therapeutic target for interrupting esophageal cancer migration. Generally, our results provide a theoretical basis for elucidating the molecular mechanisms of esophageal cancer cell migration. (Source: Journal of Cancer Research and Therapeutics)

Comparison of analgesic effect in celiac plexus neurolysis: Ethanol injection with or without iodine-125 radioactive seeds implantation
Conclusions: Celiac plexus neurolysis using ethanol injection in combination with 125I radioactive seed implantation has a longer analgesic duration than using ethanol injection alone. It could be a safe and long-lasting analgesic approach for managing refractory abdominal cancer pain. (Source: Journal of Cancer Research and Therapeutics)

Experimental study on the induction of cytotoxic T lymphocyte killing effects and dendritic-cell-based tumor vaccine prepared by high-intensity focused ultrasound
Conclusions: HIFU prepared antigen-sensitized DC could cause substantial proliferation of T cells and CTL with strong anti-tumor effects. The DC-based tumor vaccine prepared using HIFU irradiation affected active immunization on the tumor occurrence in vitro and was better than the DC-based tumor vaccine prepared using the repeated-freezing-thawing method. 360 & #176; open-ended and navigated magnetic resonance & #8211;guided microwave ablation for hepatic tumors in risk areas
Conclusion: 360° open MR system combined with navigation systems conveniently enhanced the operation of MR-guided ablation, producing effective outcomes. Therefore, this option may be a safe and effective therapy for liver tumors in patients, especially for those situated in risk areas and those not visible to identify by ultrasound or computerized tomography. Effectivity of involved-field radiotherapy for recurrent brain metastasis in patients with small-cell lung cancer
Conclusions: Compared with WBRT, IFRT exhibits better survival benefits for LS-SCLC patients with recurrent BMs after PCI. Re-irradiation for BMs exhibits advantages of symptom relief and tolerable side effects. (Source: Journal of Cancer Research and Therapeutics)

The feasibility of dose escalation using intensity-modulated radiotherapy (IMRT) and intensity-modulated proton therapy (IMPT) with FDG PET/CT guided in esophageal cancer
Conclusions: Dose escalation by IMRT may lead to increased risk of radiation-related injury. Further dose escalation in high FDG uptake regions did not increase doses to OARs. This dose escalation is ideal for achieving better outcomes for EC treatment. (Source: Journal of Cancer Research and Therapeutics)

Oncolytic virotherapy against the tumor microenvironment and its potential in pancreatic cancer
Yalei Zhang, Ye Li, Kun Chen, Ling Qian, Peng WangJournal of Cancer Research and Therapeutics 2022 18(5):1247-1255 Emerging evidence has revealed the critical role of the tumor microenvironment (TME) in tumor progression, angiogenesis, metastasis, and immunosuppression. Oncolytic viruses (OVs), a versatile therapeutic agent that targets both cancer cells and the TME, have emerged as a promising candidate for antitumor therapy. Strategies of manipulating OVs against the TME include normalization of the tumor vasculature, decomposition of the tumor stroma, and reversion of the immunosuppressive microenvironment. In pancreat...
