Analysis of risk factors for stenosis after laparoscopic pyeloplasty in the treatment of ureteropelvic junction obstruction
ConclusionIn our study, we identified that preoperative renal pelvis separation, cystatin C, and intraoperative blood loss were potential risk factors for postoperative restenosis. SRF and stenosis segment length were independent risk factors for postoperative restenosis. (Source: International Urology and Nephrology)

Malakoplakia of urinary bladde: 3 cases reports and review
ConclusionThe effective diagnosis rate is increased by conducting multiple deep, repetitive, and randomly selected live tissue examinations. The definitive diagnosis of MUB relies on pathological histological examination. Treatment involving a combination of antibiotics and transurethral resection of bladder lesions proves to be effective. Exploring the use of bladder instillation of gemcitabine widens the spectrum of MUB treatment methods. (Source: International Urology and Nephrology)

Mean arterial pressure to norepinephrine equivalent dose ratio for predicting renal replacement therapy requirement: a retrospective analysis from the MIMIC-IV
ConclusionsThe MAP/NEQ index served as an alternative predictor of RRT necessity based on the NEQ for adult patients who received at least one vasopressor over 6  h within the first 24 h of intensive care unit(ICU) admission. Dynamic modulation of the MAP/NEQ index by the synergistic use of various low-dose vasopressors targeting urine output may be beneficial for exploring individualized optimization of MAP. Objectified kidney ultrasound echogenicity and size metrics as potential predictors for kidney function in children
ConclusionWe have developed an accessible methodology to quantify kidney echogenicity. Overall, there was an inverse correlation between EI and eGFR in pediatric CKD and AKI. However, these correlations did not persist within subgroups which could be due to small sample size and heterogeneity of etiologies. Overall, KLR had a weaker correlation to eGFR, compared to EI. Despite these correlations, both EI and KLR had “fair” to “good” performance as a biomarker for an eGFR <  60 ml/min/1.73m2. (Source: International Urology and Nephrology)

Evaluation of Tamsulosin 0.4  mg versus 0.8 mg in management of lower urinary tract symptoms due to benign prostatic enlargement
ConclusionTamsulosin 0.8  mg has shown better outcomes in treating patients who suffer from lower urinary tract symptoms due to benign prostatic enlargement than Tamsulosin 0.4 mg, and besides that, it is well tolerated.Trial registration numberM S 292/2020, SID: 373, date: 22/4/2020.
