The results of SGLT-2 inhibitors use in kidney transplantation: 1-year experiences from two centers
ConclusionSGLT-2i in KTR is not associated with an increased risk of genital infection and UTI in diabetic KTR, even in the early posttransplant period. The use of SGLT-2i reduces proteinuria in KTR and has no adverse effects on allograft function at the 12-month follow-up. (Source: International Urology and Nephrology)

The prediction of cancer-specific mortality in T1 non-muscle-invasive bladder cancer: comparison of logistic regression and artificial neural network: a SEER population-based study
ConclusionsAvailable risk factors might be useful to estimate the risk of CSS and OS and thus facilitate optimal treatment choice. The accuracy of survival prediction is still moderate. T1 BC with adverse features requires more aggressive treatment after initial TURBT. (Source: International Urology and Nephrology)

Evaluation of automated microscopy sediment analysis in urinary tract infection screening: a practical insight in adjusting fixed cut-off values for urine culture
ConclusionUsing cut-offs values leads to a notable decrease of the total number of urine cultures. According to our analysis, adjusting cut-off values could result in 37% less urine cultures and almost 50% less negative cultures. Hereby, unnecessary cost can be prevented [in our department estimated €31.470 in eight months (€ 47.205/year)]. (Source: International Urology and Nephrology)

Early three-month report of amniotic bladder therapy in patients with interstitial cystitis/bladder pain syndrome
ConclusionABT could be an innovative treatment option for IC/BPS patients in terms of improving clinical symptoms based on preliminary outcomes at 3  months. Further studies are warranted to confirm the usefulness of ABT in patients with IC/BPS and to determine the duration of the effect. (Source: International Urology and Nephrology)

Outcomes of Hem-o-Lok clip migration at vesico-urethral anastomotic site post-robotic-assisted laparoscopic radical prostatectomy: a single centre experience
ConclusionHOLC use in RALP may present with migration and associated complications. HOLC migration is associated with severe BNC and may require multiple endoscopic interventions. Severe dysuria and LUTS not responding to medical management should be treated using an algorithmic approach and there should be a low threshold for performing cystoscopy and intervention in these cases to improve outcomes. Nocturnal polyuria and nocturia
AbstractBackgroundNocturia is a common complaint that can have a significant impact on quality of life. The pathophysiology is usually multifactorial and can be due to poor sleep, nocturnal polyuria, or low bladder capacity alone or in combination.ObjectiveNocturnal polyuria (NP) is the most common cause of nocturia in older adults. We hereby review the role of nocturnal polyuria in nocturia.Patients and methodsTo manage nocturia, a multipronged approach personalized to the patient ’s multifactorial etiology is warranted, with a focus on lifestyle modifications and behavioral approaches as first-line therapies. Item analysis of G8 screening in uro-oncologic geriatric patients
ConclusionThe present study revealed a high percentage of suspicious test results. Potential reasons for these findings include the low threshold of the G8 overall score and the fact that in some items, points were easily lost. Modifications of the test should be considered. Application of urethral injection of calcium hydroxyapatite as a natural bulking agent for improvement of urinary incontinence in children with spinal dysraphism
ConclusionInjection of CaHA into the bladder neck is relatively safe, reproducible, and effective for total dribbling urinary incontinence in children with spinal dysraphism. The bladder neck reconstruction with or without a urethral sling or other surgical procedures could be postponed until puberty in selected cases. However, further multicenter clinical trials are highly recommended. (Source: International Urology and Nephrology)
