Design and methodological issues of within-person (split-body) randomized controlled trials evaluating a topical treatment: A systematic review
Conclusion Our systematic review highlights that despite the publication of the CONSORT checklist extension for WP-RCTs in 2017, this design is rarely used, and when it is, there are methodological and reporting concerns. (Source: Dermatology)

Artificial intelligence for the classification of pigmented skin lesions in populations with skin of colour: A systematic review
Conclusions While this review provides promising evidence of accurate AI models in skin of color populations, there are still large discrepancies remain in the number of AI models developed in populations with skin of color (particularly Fitzpatrick type IV-VI) and those with largely European ancestry. A lack of publicly available datasets from diverse populations is likely a contributing factor, as is the inadequate reporting of patient-level metadata relating to skin color in training datasets. Arthritis Hit Rate in Patients with Psoriasis Referred for Rheumatology Evaluation
Conclusion: In this study, 23.6% of patients with psoriasis with symptoms suggestive of PsA were diagnosed with axial and/or peripheral arthritis following rheumatologic evaluation. Patient-reported swollen joints and dermatologist-assessed swollen joints indicated a high likelihood of peripheral PsA. Additionally, the absence of patient-reported swollen joints indicated a very low probability of establishing a diagnosis of peripheral PsA. (Source: Dermatology)

Increased risk of suicide attempt in patients with alopecia areata: a nationwide population-based cohort study
Conclusions: Patients with AA had a significantly higher incidence of suicidal attempts than controls, regardless of concurrent psychiatric illness. Further studies are needed to elucidate the pathophysiology of the association between AA and suicidality. In addition, dermatologists should be aware of the increased suicidality of patients with alopecia areata. (Source: Dermatology)

Patients with limited life expectancy are biopsied for keratinocyte cancers at similar frequency to healthy patients
Conclusion: Biopsy frequency is similar or increased in patients with LLE compared with age-matched controls, with increased frequency of complications. Further studies are needed to understand the underlying factors driving these practice patterns. (Source: Dermatology)
