Sarcopenia and anti ‐seizure medication response in juvenile myoclonic epilepsy
ConclusionThe TMT did not differ between patients with JME and healthy controls; however, it was reduced in ASM poor responders compared to ASM good responders, suggesting a link between ASM response and sarcopenia in patients with JME. TMT can be used to investigate sarcopenia in various neurological disorders. (Source: Brain and Behavior)

The association between lymphocyte to high ‐density lipoprotein ratio and depression: Data from NHANES 2015–2018
ConclusionsA higher level of LHR was significantly associated with higher odds of having depression in US adults, and it was strengthened in participants with MetS or BMI ranging from 25 to 30  kg/m2. (Source: Brain and Behavior)

Prevalence of fibromyalgia and irritable bowel syndrome and its association with studying medicine, a cross ‐sectional study in Al‐Baath University, Syria
ConclusionWe found an increased prevalence of IBS among medical students. The prevalence of FM did not show any relation to studying medicine. We recommend additional prospective studies to assess whether studying medicine could be a risk factor for these disorders or not. (Source: Brain and Behavior)

Factors associated with age of presentation of pediatric feeding disorder
ConclusionsInfants under 1 year old with PFD represent a distinct patient group with unique characteristics and outcomes. The age of presentation plays a significant role in children with PFD, necessitating tailored treatment strategies. (Source: Brain and Behavior)

A retrospective, naturalistic study of deep brain stimulation and vagal nerve stimulation in young patients
ConclusionYoung patients may have distinct vulnerabilities for increased psychiatric symptoms during treatment with invasive neuromodulation. Child and adolescent psychiatrists should consider a more proactive approach and greater engagement with DBS and VNS teams that treat younger patients. (Source: Brain and Behavior)

Time is ticking for TikTok tics: A retrospective follow ‐up study in the post‐COVID‐19 isolation era
ConclusionWhile many patients ’ FTLBs improved, it is critical to remain alert to patients’ overall function and to assess for other functional neurological disorders and mental health concerns. The tendency of FTLBs to improve in this population, independent of treatment, highlights the unique pathophysiology of FTLBs. Futu re research on contributing psychosocial factors and specific treatment protocols will allow optimal support for these patients. (Source: Brain and Behavior)

Pre ‐saccadic shifts of attention in individuals diagnosed with schizophrenia
ConclusionThese findings suggest generally intact pre-saccadic shifts of attention in SZ, albeit slightly delayed. Results contribute to our understanding of altered sensory predictions in people with schizophrenia. (Source: Brain and Behavior)

Iranian adaptation of the Epistemic Trust, Mistrust, and Credulity Questionnaire (ETMCQ): Validity, reliability, discriminant ability, and sex invariance
ConclusionThis study provides evidence for the cross-cultural applicability of the ETMCQ. Nonetheless, the validity of the trust and internal consistency of the mistrust subscale require particular attention in future research. (Source: Brain and Behavior)

Medically unexplained symptoms are common in women in tertiary neurological healthcare center: A survey cohort study of persons investigated for suspected multiple sclerosis
ConclusionsUD is common among persons investigated for suspected MS, in particular among female parents. Our data suggest that PwUD can be characterized as nonsmokers with low alcohol consumption and a higher prevalence of autoimmune disease, in particular thyroid disease. (Source: Brain and Behavior)

Predictive model for identifying mild cognitive impairment in patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus: A CHAID decision tree analysis
ConclusionThe established decision tree model based on age, educational level, household income, regular physical activity, diabetic nephropathy, and diabetic retinopathy performed well with comparable predictive value compared to the multivariate logistic regression model and was internally validated. Due to its superior classification accuracy and simple presentation as well as interpretation of collected data, the decision tree model is more recommended for the prediction of MCI in T2DM patients in clinical practice. The effects of standard and modified LSVT BIG therapy protocols on balance and gait in Parkinson's disease: A randomized controlled trial
ConclusionThe results revealed the beneficial effects of the modified protocol on balance and gait in PwPD, as well as the superiority of the standard LSVT BIG protocol. The m-LSVT BIG protocol may be an effective intervention method, especially for PwPD who have difficulty adapting to the treatment frequency of the standard protocol. (Source: Brain and Behavior)

The HMGB1 –RAGE axis in nucleus accumbens facilitates cocaine‐induced conditioned place preference via modulating microglial activation
ConclusionAll above results suggest that the neural HMGB1 induces activation of microglia through RAGE, which contributes to the consolidation of cocaine reward memory. These findings offer HMGB1 –RAGE axis as a new target for the treatment of drug addiction. (Source: Brain and Behavior)

Time ‐dependent systolic blood pressure within 72 h after endovascular treatment in large vessel occlusion stroke
ConclusionTaken together, higher SBP within the first 72  h after EVT has a time-dependent association with adverse clinical outcomes. Optimal blood pressure management during the first 72 h after EVT may be important to improve clinical outcome. (Source: Brain and Behavior)

The non ‐paretic‐hand‐to‐opposite‐ear test: A simple test to detect aphasia and neglect and an indicator of large anterior vessel occlusion in patients with suspected acute stroke
ConclusionThe NPE test is a simple test for the detection of both aphasia and neglect. With its predictive values for LAVO detection being comparable to the results of LAVO scores in the prehospital setting, this simple test might be a promising test for prehospital LAVO detection by EMS personnel. Further prospective prehospital validation is needed. (Source: Brain and Behavior)

Disentangling the neurobiological bases of temporal impulsivity in Huntington's disease
ConclusionsThe present findings highlight the importance of investigating the spectrum of temporal impulsivity in HD. As, while less prevalent than other psychiatric features, this symptom is still reported to significantly impact the quality of life of patients and caregivers. This study provides evidence that individual differences observed in temporal impulsivity may be explained by variability in limbic frontostriatal tracts, while shedding light on the role of sensitivity to reward in modulating impulsive behavior through the selection of immediate rewards.
