Values and diagnostic accuracy of sensory nerve action potentials in control participants and participants with diabetes with and without clinical diabetic neuropathy, based on neuropathy scale measurements
ConclusionSural nerve had a high specificity for neuropathy; however, the CSPNI had the highest specificity and PPV, whereas the SPS had the highest sensitivity and NPV. (Source: Brain and Behavior)

Causal association between systemic lupus erythematosus and the risk of migraine: A Mendelian randomization study
ConclusionsOur study indicates that genetic susceptibility to SLE increases the incidence of migraine with aura but not migraine without aura. It is necessary for the routine evaluation and early recognition of migraine in patients with SLE in clinical settings. (Source: Brain and Behavior)

Serum Galectin ‐1, Galectin‐9, and YKL‐40 levels in bipolar disorder and their relationship with cognitive functions
Discussion and conclusionStatistically significant low levels of serum Galectin-1, Galectin-9, and YKL-40 detected in the patient group suggest that these parameters have important roles in neuroinflammation. The statistically higher Stroop and trail-making test scores of the patient group compared to the control group indicates that the cognitive performance of the patient group was weaker. Also, the positive correlation between Galectin-1, Galectin-9, and YKL-40 levels and cognitive performance suggests that these molecules may have a neuroprotective role. We think that the present study will contribute to this field whe...

Calcitriol restrains microglial M1 polarization and alleviates dopaminergic degeneration in hemiparkinsonian mice by boosting regulatory T ‐cell expansion
ConclusionThese findings suggest that calcitriol's anti-inflammatory and neuroprotective effects in PD are associated with its potential to boost Treg expansion. (Source: Brain and Behavior)

Pregnancy ‐related knowledge in women with epilepsy in childbearing age: A pilot questionnaire survey from China
ConclusionIn our study, the understanding of pregnancy-related knowledge did not differ from WWE and their caregivers, both are far from satisfactory in certain areas. It is urgent for WWE and their caregivers to improve their pregnancy-related knowledge of epilepsy. As their primary access is from knowledgeable health care professionals like neurologists, well-trained neurologists in epilepsy management during pregnancy are in need. (Source: Brain and Behavior)

Causal relationship between inflammatory factors and cerebral small vessel disease: Univariate, multivariate, and summary ‐data‐based mendelian randomization analysis
ConclusionAccording to MR and SMR analysis, higher levels of TRAIL increased the risk of SVS by upregulating gene expression of KNG1 in brain cortex tissues. In addition, protective effects of E-selectin and IL-3a levels on WMPVS were regulated by increased DNA methylation of gene ABO in blood tissue. (Source: Brain and Behavior)

Correlation analysis between cerebral microangiopathy and autonomic nervous dysfunction
ConclusionWe demonstrates that age, history of leukoaraiosis, cognitive function assessment, blood uric acid, Hcy level, 24-h SBPSD, dSBPSD, nSBPSD, blood pressure, SDNN, RMSSD, HF, LF, and coronary heart disease were highly associated with cerebral microangiopathy with autonomic dysfunction. Furthermore, the influencing factors of cerebral microangiopathy with autonomic dysfunction are age, history of leukoaraiosis, ASP score, SSR, blood pressure variability, and HRV. UK Medical Cannabis Registry: Assessment of clinical outcomes in patients with insomnia
ConclusionPatients with insomnia experienced an improvement in sleep quality following the initiation of CBMPs in this medium-term analysis. Fewer than 15% of participants reported one or more adverse events. However, due to the limitations of the study design, further investigation is required before definitive conclusions can be drawn on the efficacy of CBMPs in treating insomnia. Exploring the associations between physical activity level, cognitive performance, and response to computerized cognitive training among chronic stroke patients
ConclusionThe results do not support that baseline physical activity level is a relevant predictor of the overall performance or response to CCT in this sample of chronic stroke patients. Similarly, the analyses revealed little evidence for an association between index stroke characteristics and future activity level in patients surviving mild-to-moderate stroke.
