Online preconcentration and determination of five alkaloids in Yangxinshi tablet by large-volume sample stacking and micelle to solvent stacking in cyclodextrin-modified electrokinetic chromatography
Biomed Chromatogr. 2024 Apr 10:e5876. doi: 10.1002/bmc.5876. Online ahead of print.ABSTRACTThe two-step preconcentration technique consisting of large-volume sample stacking (LVSS) and micelle to solvent stacking (MSS) in cyclodextrin-modified electrokinetic chromatography (CDEKC) was developed for the analysis of five cationic alkaloids in complex Chinese herbal prescriptions. Relevant parameters affecting separation and stacking performance were optimized separately. Under the optimal LVSS-MSS-CDEKC conditions, less analysis time and organic solvent were required, and the enhancement factors of analytes ranged from 12 to...

Biomed Chromatogr. 2024 Apr 10:e5878. doi: 10.1002/bmc.5878. Online ahead of print.ABSTRACTA simple and a sensitive liquid chromatography-tandem mass spectrometry method was developed and validated for the quantification of gedatolisib in mouse plasma. The extraction technique involved a simple precipitation method to extract gedatolisib and idelalisib (internal standard) from mouse plasma. A clean chromatographic separation of gedatolisib and the internal standard was achieved on an Atlantis dC18 column using an isocratic mobile phase (10 mm ammonium formate and acetonitrile; 30:70% v/v, both supplemented with 0.1% formic...

Assessment of the botanical origin of Saudi Arabian honey samples to identify pollen with chromatographic tools and packing and storage
This study uses HPLC to extract phenolic compounds, revealing dominant protocatechuic acid (4.71 mg g-1), and GC-MS to analyze organic compounds in honey pollen. Specifically, 2-dodecanone was detected with a retention time of 7.34 min. The utilization of chromatographic tools in assessing honey samples for pollen identification provides a reliable and efficient method for determining their botanical origins, thereby contributing to the quality control and authentication of honey products.PMID:38599336 | DOI:10.1002/bmc.5869 (Source: Biomedical Chromatography : BMC)

Residues determination, risk assessment, and dissipation behavior of myclobutanil formulation on apple
This study aimed to investigate the dissipation pattern, risk assessment, and waiting period of myclobutanil on apple fruit (Malus domestica Borkh.) under temperate conditions in Kashmir, India. The study involved the application of myclobutanil 10 WP at a single recommended dosage (125 g a.i. ha-1) and double dosage (250 g a.i. ha-1) on Red Velox apple trees, 2 months before harvest. GC equipped with an electron capture detector was used to analyze myclobutanil residues in fruit samples. The study revealed that myclobutanil, at both recommended and double recommended doses, dissipated rapidly and became nondetectable afte...

Highly sensitive liquid chromatography-mass spectrometry method for the quantitative analysis of mometasone furoate in human plasma: Method validation and application to clinical pharmacokinetic studies
We report the development and the validation of a sensitive liquid chromatography-mass spectrometry (LC-MS/MS) method for mometasone furoate (MF) analysis in human plasma. Plasma samples were processed through liquid-liquid extraction and analyzed using LC-MS/MS operating in positive mode using multiple reaction monitoring of transitions m/z 520.9 → 355.0 and m/z 525.8 → 355.0 for MF and the internal standard (IS), respectively. Separation was achieved at 1.0 mL/min on a C18 column using a gradient elution of mobile phase of 0.05% ammonia in water (phase A) and acetonitrile (phase B). The assay range was 0.250-100 pg/m...

Study on the antidepressive effects and mechanism of raw and fried Ziziphi Spinosae Semen via metabolomics and gut microbiota analysis
This study demonstrated that compared with ZSS, FZSS exhibited an increase in the content of seven compounds, while the fatty oil content decreased. Both ZSS and FZSS exhibited antidepressive effects in a chronic unpredictable mild stress rat model, indicating a synergistic regulation of deficiencies in 5-hydroxytryptamine in the brain and the hyperactivation of severe peripheral inflammation. ZSS demonstrated a superior modulatory effect compared with FZSS, as indicated by integrated pharmacodynamic index, metabolic profile, and relative distance value. The potential mechanism underlying their antidepressive effects invol...
