Systematical analyses of large-scale transcriptome reveal viral infection-related genes and disease comorbidities
In this study, we manually collected 23 datasets related to 6,197 blood transcriptomes across 16 types of respiratory virus infections. We applied a comprehensive systems biology approach starting with whole-blood transcriptomes combined with multilevel bioinformatics analyses to characterize the expression, functional pathways, and protein-protein interaction (PPI) networks to identify robust biomarkers and disease comorbidities. Robust gene markers of infection with different viruses were identified, which can accurately classify the normal and infected patients in train and validation cohorts. The biological processes (...

Construction of silver-coated high translucent zirconia implanting abutment material and its property of antibacterial
This study aims to promote the formation of a biological seal at the implant-soft tissue interface by modifying the HTZ surface, using the load-bearing capacity of the aluminosilicate porous structure and the broad-spectrum antibacterial effect of silver nanoparticles to prevent peri-implant bacterial infection and inflammation and to improve the success rate and prolong the use of the implant. FE-SEM (field emission scanning electron microscopes), EDS (energy dispersive spectroscopy), and XPS (X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy) results showed that aluminosilicate non-vacuum sintering can form open micro- and nanoporous str...

Liposomes for drug delivery: review of vesicular composition, factors affecting drug release and drug loading in liposomes
Artif Cells Nanomed Biotechnol. 2023 Dec;51(1):428-440. doi: 10.1080/21691401.2023.2247036.ABSTRACTLiposomes are considered among the most versatile and advanced nanoparticle delivery systems used to target drugs to specific cells and tissues. Structurally, liposomes are sphere-like vesicles of phospholipid molecules that are surrounded by equal number of aqueous compartments. The spherical shell encapsulates an aqueous interior which contains substances such as peptides and proteins, hormones, enzymes, antibiotics, antifungal and anticancer agents. This structural property of liposomes makes it an important nano-carrier f...
