Quantification of SARS-CoV-2 monoclonal IgG mass fraction by isotope dilution mass spectrometry
Anal Bioanal Chem. 2024 Mar 1. doi: 10.1007/s00216-024-05205-z. Online ahead of print.ABSTRACTThe availability of serology assays to measure antibodies against the SARS coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2) expanded rapidly during the Covid-19 pandemic. The interchangeable use of such assays to monitor disease progression and immune protection requires their standardization, for which suitably characterized monoclonal antibody materials can be useful. The methods, based on isotope dilution mass spectrometry, to value assign the mass fraction of such a material in solution within the context of an international interlaboratory compari...

Self-assembly of CuAuTA nanozymes for intelligent detection of ginkgolic acids
Anal Bioanal Chem. 2024 Feb 28. doi: 10.1007/s00216-024-05221-z. Online ahead of print.ABSTRACTToxic ginkgolic acids (GAs) are a challenge for Ginkgo biloba-related food. Although a detection method for GAs is available, bulky instruments limit the field testing of GAs. Herein, by assembling gold nanoclusters with copper tannic acid (CuTA), CuAuTA nanocomposites were designed as peroxidase mimics for the colorimetric determination of GAs. Compared with single CuTA, the obtained CuAuTA nanocomposites possessed enhanced peroxidase-like properties. Based on the inhibitory effect of GAs for the catalytic activity of CuAuTA nan...

A new methodology to reveal potential nucleic acid modifications associated with the risk of endometrial cancer through dispersive solid-phase extraction coupled with UHPLC-QE-Orbitrap-MS/MS and HPLC-UV
In this study, a novel dispersive solid-phase extraction (DSPE) method based on chitosan-carbon nanotube-Al2O3 (CS-CNT-Al2O3) has been established for the analysis of 5-hydroxymethyluracil (5 mU), 5-methyl-2'-deoxycytidine (5-mdC), 5-hydroxymethyl-2'-deoxycytidine (5-hmdC), 5-formyl-2'-deoxycytidine (5-fdC), and 8-hydroxy-2'-deoxyguanosine (8-OHdG) in EC patient urine samples coupled with UHPLC-QE-Orbitrap-MS/MS and HPLC-UV. Firstly, the synthesis of the CS-CNT-Al2O3 nanocomposite was conducted by a sono-coprecipitation method and was characterized by scanning electron microscope (SEM), energy dispersive spectrometer (EDS)...

Self-correction of cycle threshold values by a normal distribution-based process to improve accuracy of quantification in real-time digital PCR
Anal Bioanal Chem. 2024 Feb 24. doi: 10.1007/s00216-024-05208-w. Online ahead of print.ABSTRACTThe digital polymerase chain reaction (dPCR) is a new and developing nucleic acid detection technology with high sensitivity that can realize the absolute quantitative analysis of samples. In order to improve the accuracy of quantitative results, real-time digital PCR emphasizes the kinetic information during amplification to identify prominent abnormal data. However, it is challenging to use a unified standard to accurately classify the amplification curve of each well as negative and positive, due to the interference caused by ...

Activated carbon from avocado seed as sorbent phase for microextraction technologies: activation, characterization, and analytical performance
Anal Bioanal Chem. 2024 Feb 23. doi: 10.1007/s00216-024-05203-1. Online ahead of print.ABSTRACTAccording to green analytical chemistry principles, the use of agricultural byproducts as sorbent phases is an interesting topic due to their lignocellulosic origin, as they are biodegradable and inexpensive. To the best of our knowledge, this is the first study in which avocado seed and avocado seed activated carbon are proposed as sustainable sorbents for solid-phase microextraction technologies, which were used to assess the proof of concept. Rotating disk sorptive extraction (RDSE) was used as a model technology and ibuprofen...

Raman spectrum combined with deep learning for precise recognition of Carbapenem-resistant Enterobacteriaceae
This study is significant for guiding antibiotic use in CRE infection, as the sensitive antibiotic used in treatment can be predicted directly by measuring CRE spectra. Our study demonstrates the potential of combining SERS with deep learning algorithms to identify CRE without culture labels and classify its sensitive antibiotics. This approach provides a new idea for rapid and accurate clinical detection of CRE and has important significance for alleviating the rapid development of resistance to CRE.PMID:38383664 | DOI:10.1007/s00216-024-05209-9 (Source: Analytical and Bioanalytical Chemistry)
