Sensors, Vol. 24, Pages 1904: The Potential Role of Wearable Inertial Sensors in Laboring Women with Walking Epidural Analgesia
Desseauve There is a growing interest in wearable inertial sensors to monitor and analyze the movements of pregnant women. The noninvasive and discrete nature of these sensors, integrated into devices accumulating large datasets, offers a unique opportunity to study the dynamic changes in movement patterns during the rapid physical transformations induced by pregnancy. However, the final cut of the third trimester of pregnancy, particularly the first stage of labor up to delivery, remains underexplored. The growing popularity of “walking epidural”, a neuraxial analgesia method allowing moto...

Effect of vaginal douching with normal saline before insertion of dinoprostone vaginal insert for labor induction
CONCLUSION: Although douching with normal saline increases vaginal pH, douching does not help in increasing the chances of vaginal delivery because it gives a transient effect. Rather, it is intrinsic vaginal pH, which is a better decisive factor for successful vaginal delivery.PMID:38482325 | PMC:PMC10931876 | DOI:10.4103/jfmpc.jfmpc_1108_23 (Source: Primary Care)

Timing of induction of labor in suspected macrosomia: retrospective cohort study, systematic review and meta-analysis
CONCLUSION: Timing of IOL in patients with suspected macrosomia significantly impacts perinatal adverse outcomes. IOL has no impact on rates of SD but does increase CD when considered irrespective of gestational age, but it may decrease the risk of SD without increasing the risk of other adverse maternal outcomes, in particular cesarean section when performed before 40+0 WG. (GRADE: Low/Very low). This article is protected by copyright. All rights reserved.PMID:38477187 | DOI:10.1002/uog.27643 (Source: The Ultrasound Review of Obstetrics and Gynecology)

The effects of intravenous hydration regimens in nulliparous women undergoing induction of labor: A systematic review and meta ‐analysis
ConclusionsOur review found no significant improvements for nulliparous women who received higher intravenous fluid volumes when undergoing induction of labor and were not routinely fasted. However, data are limited, and further research is needed. (Source: Acta Obstetricia et Gynecologica Scandinavica)

Genes, Vol. 15, Pages 354: Genome-Wide Identification and Expression Analysis of the DMP and MTL Genes in Sweetpotato (Ipomoea batatas L.)
In this study, we identified 5 IbDMPs and 25 IbpPLAs. IbDMP5 and IbPLAIIs (IbPLAIIκ, IbPLAIIλ, and IbPLAIIμ) were identified as potential haploid induction (HI) genes in sweetpotato. These results provide valuable information for the identification and potential function of HI genes in sweetpotato and provide ideas for the breeding of DH lines. (Source: Genes)
