Conclusions Valuable insight was gained into the practicality of conducting a RCT of impetigo treatments in general practice. Future trials should consider recruiting outside of general practice clinics to capture patients at earlier, more mild stages of infection. One versus two doses of ivermectin-based mass drug administration for the control of scabies: A cluster randomised non-inferiority trial
ConclusionsThere was no indication of an overall decline in scabies prevalence in either arm. The reduction in scabies prevalence in those present at baseline suggests that the unexpectedly high influx of people into the trial villages, likely related to the COVID-19 pandemic, may have compromised the effectiveness of the MDA. Despite the lack of effect there are important lessons to be learnt from this trial about conducting MDA for scabies in high prevalence settings. Comparative Evaluation of Dermatological Emergency Consultations in the Coronavirus Pandemic Era: Tertiary Clinic Experience
CONCLUSIONS: Emergency departments are the busiest and fastest areas of the hospital. Pandemics such as COVID-19 may also occur in the coming years. A Boy with Reset Osmostat Who Developed Chronic Hyponatremia due to Hypothalamic Injury Caused by a Giant Arachnoid Cyst
We report the case of a boy with RO and a giant arachnoid cyst (AC). The patient had been suspected of having AC since the fetal period, and a giant AC in the prepontine cistern was confirmed by brain magnetic resonance imaging 7 days after birth. During the neonatal period, there were no abnormalities in the general condition or blood tests, and he was discharged from the NICU at the 27 after birth. He was born with a -2 standard deviation short stature and mild mental retardation. When he was 6 years old, he was diagnosed with infectious impetigo and had hyponatremia of 121 mmol/L.
