Urine high-risk human papillomavirus testing as an alternative to routine cervical screening: A comparative diagnostic accuracy study of two urine collection devices using a randomised study design trial
CONCLUSIONS: Testing of FVU-device-collected urine for HPV was superior to standard-pot-collected urine in colposcopy attendees and has promising sensitivity for CIN2+ detection. General population HPV testing of FVU-device-collected urine will establish its clinical performance and acceptability as an alternative to routine cervical screening.PMID:38660737 | DOI:10.1111/1471-0528.17831 (Source: BJOG : An International Journal of Obstetrics and Gynaecology)

Viruses, Vol. 16, Pages 667: Unveiling the Role of Human Papillomavirus in Urogenital Carcinogenesis a Comprehensive Review
n Human papillomavirus (HPV), an oncogenic DNA virus, is the most common sexually transmitted virus and significant public health concern globally. Despite the substantial prevalence of HPV infection among men, routine testing remains elusive due to the lack of approved HPV tests and the complexity of detection methods. Various studies have explored the link between HPV and genitourinary cancers, revealing different associations influenced by geographic variation, histological subtype and methodological differences. These findings underscore the importance of further research to elucidate the role of HPV in male urogen...

Cancers, Vol. 16, Pages 1610: Imiquimod Is Effective in Reducing Cervical Intraepithelial Neoplasia: A Systematic Review and Meta-Analysis
Conclusions: Our findings indicate that topical Imiquimod is safe and effective in reducing cervical intraepithelial neoplasia and promoting HPV clearance. However, it was found to be inferior compared to conization. Imiquimod could be considered a potential medication for high-grade CIN patients and should be incorporated into guidelines for treating cervical dysplasia. (Source: Cancers)

Analysis of atypical glandular cells in ThinPrep Pap smear and follow-up histopathology
CONCLUSION: The AGC diagnostic rate at our institution falls within the range given by the College of American Pathologists. A significant number of cases had follow-up histologic results available, and the overall 5-year insignificant AGC rate was 0.12%.PMID:38628324 | PMC:PMC11018051 | DOI:10.1080/08998280.2024.2324656 (Source: Baylor University Medical Center Proceedings)

Awareness, knowledge and attitudes of human papillomavirus infection, screening and vaccination: a survey study in Greece
ConclusionOur results indicate that although awareness of the existence of HPV infection is high in Greek general population, the actual perception of the pathophysiology of transmission and importance of HPV testing and vaccination is low. Targeting specific population groups is essential to help increase HPV coverage and screening. (Source: Archives of Gynecology and Obstetrics)

HPV-Related Multiphenotypic Sinonasal Carcinoma: A Clinicoradiological Series of 3 Cases With Full Endoscopic Surgical Outcome
Conclusion and Relevance: HMSC represents a newly identified diagnosis that constitutes a significant challenge for both clinicians and pathologists. It is crucial to acknowledge its indolent clinical course and the apparent contradiction between aggressive radiological features and the noninvasive nature of surgical findings. Skull base surgeons should be aware that, despite these complexities, endoscopic treatment is achievable in the majority of cases. This understanding is essential for the effective management of HMSC.PMID:38591784 | DOI:10.1177/01455613241247729 (Source: Ear, Nose and Throat Journal)
