Assessment of volume flow rate in arteriovenous fistulas with a novel ultrasound Doppler device (earlybird): Trend analysis, comparison of methods, and inter- and intra-rater reliability
CONCLUSION: We observed a weaker correlation in the measurements of volume flow rates in arteriovenous fistulas when obtained using earlybird compared to dilution technique, unlike the comparison between duplex ultrasound and the dilution technique. However, inter-rater reliability for the arteriovenous fistula was excellent with earlybird and good with duplex ultrasound, indicating the potential of earlybird as a tool for frequent measurements, enabling trend surveillance and predicting adverse outcomes.PMID:38708835 | DOI:10.1177/11297298241250379 (Source: The Journal of Vascular Access)

Cavoatrial junction stenting in vascular hemodialysis catheter malfunction
We report the case of two patients with a story of multiple catheter failures due to thrombosis or infection. Computed tomography (CT) showed radiological signs of CAJ stenosis confirmed at the following venography. In absence of other feasible options to place a vascular access, the two underwent stenting with Gore Viabahn VBX balloon expandable endoprosthesis (W.L. Gore & Associates, Flagstaff, AZ, USA) of the CAJ stenosis. Completion venography showed complete resolution of the stenosis in both patients. No complications occurred during the procedures. The influence of near-infrared therapy on arteriovenous fistula patency in haemodialysis patients: A multicentre, randomised, controlled clinical trial
This study will examine the effects of NIR therapy on AVF.METHODS: A randomised, controlled, open-label, multicentre trial will compare the effect of NIR on AVF patency after 1 year of therapy with that of a control group of patients with existing AVF. Humoral Response After Two Doses of COVISHIELD < sup > TM < /sup > Vaccine in Patients Undergoing Maintenance Hemodialysis
CONCLUSION: In MHD patients, two doses of the COVISHIELDTM vaccine induced a substantial humoral response. Prior history of COVID-19 resulted in a higher antibody response.
