Diosmetin-7-O- β-D-glucopyranoside suppresses endothelial-mesenchymal transformation through endoplasmic reticulum stress in cardiac fibrosis
In this study, molecular docking results showed that diosmetin-7-O-glucoside bound well to ER stress and Src pathway markers. Diosmetin-7-O-glucoside suppressed cardiac fibrosis induced by isoprenaline (ISO) and reduced the levels of EndMT, ER stress in mice heart. Primary cardiac microvascular endothelial cells (CMECs) were induced by transforming growth factor-β1 (TGF-β1) to perform EndMT. Diosmetin-7-O-glucoside could effectively regulate EndMT and diminish the accumulation of collagen I and collagen III. We also showed that the tube formation in CMECs was restored, and the capacity of migration was partially inhibite...

Case of left atrial myxoid sarcoma with lung metastases presented as a cardiogenic shock: a case report and literature review
CONCLUSIONS: Primary cardiac tumors should be suspected in adult patients with progressive dyspnea, and a biopsy should also be done to determine the histopathological pattern of the mass and estimate the overall prognosis and outcomes.PMID:37427231 | PMC:PMC10328677 | DOI:10.1097/MS9.0000000000000898 (Source: Annals of Medicine)

Siblings with Gorlin –Goltz syndrome associated with cardiac tumors: a case report and review of literature
Primary cardiac tumors in children are very rare and may be associated with severe arrhythmias and sudden infant death syndrome. These cardiac arrhythmias vary depending on the location and size of the tumor. ... (Source: Orphanet Journal of Rare Diseases)

Postoperative radiotherapy for high-grade primary cardiac spindle cell sarcoma: a rare entity
BMJ Case Rep. 2023 Jun 30;16(6):e255438. doi: 10.1136/bcr-2023-255438.ABSTRACTA patient in her early 20s presented with blood-stained sputum and shortness of breath. Initially, she was treated for pneumonia. Later, upon exacerbation of symptoms, further investigations were done which exhibited a left atrial mass causing compression of contralateral atrium. She underwent surgical resection of the mass, which was initially mistaken as myxoma. However, histopathological correlation revealed spindle cell sarcoma with focal myogenic differentiation. This case report highlights the role of Radiation Therapy in adjuvant setting w...

Management of primary cardiac leiomyosarcoma
CONCLUSION: The nonspecific symptoms presented in the reported case demonstrate that the cardiac tumour can mimic other cardiac disorders, such as coronary artery disease or pericarditis, rarely representing the first manifestation of a previously unknown malignancy.PMID:37396103 | PMC:PMC10310325 | DOI:10.3332/ecancer.2023.1562 (Source: Ecancermedicalscience)

Cardiac rhabdomyomas: clinical progression, efficacy and safety of everolimus treatment
CONCLUSIONS: According to our results, everolimus accelerates tumor mass reduction, but not amount of mass regression in the long term. Everolimus may be considered for treatment of rhabdomyomas which cause hemodynamic compromise or life-threatening arrhythmias before surgical intervention.PMID:37395967 | DOI:10.24953/turkjped.2022.922 (Source: The Turkish Journal of Pediatrics)
