Co-Processed Crystalline Solids of Ivermectin with Span < sup > ® < /sup > 60 as Solubility Enhancers of Ivermectin in Natural Oils
In this study, polymorphic and co-crystal screening was used to see if such solid-state modifications can improve the oil solubility of ivermectin. Span® 60, a lipophilic non-ionic surfactant, was chosen as co-former. The rationale behind attempting to improve oil solubility was to use ivermectin in future topical and transdermal preparations to treat a range of skin conditions like scabies and head lice. Physical mixtures were also prepared in the same molar ratios as the co-crystal candidates, to serve as controls. Solid-state characterization was performed using X-ray powder diffraction (XRPD), Fourier-transform infrar...

Assessing evening primrose oil effects on the serum levels of omentin-1 and biochemical parameters in the diabetic rat model
In this study, the influence of evening primrose oil on the serum levels of omentin-1 and some of biochemical parameters in the diabetic rat model were investigated. In total, 24 healthy Wistar Albino male rats with a weight range of 200 –250 g were classified into 4 groups of 6: First group: control normal, second group: EPO (evening primrose oil), third group: diabetic, fourth group: diabetic+EPO. After 20 days, serum samples were taken, and the required parameters were measured and analyzed. ELISA was utilized to determining serum omentin-1 levels. Also, the levels of biochemical factors TG, CHOL, HDL, LDL, FBS, and...

Cancers, Vol. 15, Pages 5003: Evening Primrose Extract Modulates TYMS Expression via SP1 Transcription Factor in Malignant Pleural Mesothelioma
Conclusion: EPE components reduced TYMS expression by occupation of SP1 motifs on the tyms promoter and reversed the EMT phenotype of invasive MPM cells. Further in-depth analysis of the molecular docking of polyphenol compounds with SP1 regulatory motifs is required. (Source: Cancers)
