How socio-political change is associated with the number of individually reported negative life events: a population-based study using the German reunification 1989/1990 as an example
Conclusion Our findings suggest that although some individuals experience a marked increase in NLEs due to socio-political changes, many remain unaffected, emphasising the need for a differentiated understanding of these effects. This increase in NLEs may partly account for ongoing health and well-being disparities among countries with differing transformation histories. (Source: Journal of Epidemiology and Community Health)

Relationship between employment and adaptive video gaming in individuals with physical disabilities
CONCLUSION: Participants in this study had higher rates of employment compared to national averages for individuals with physical disabilities. More frequent use of adaptive gaming equipment for work was associated with a higher likeliness of full-time employment. Most participants who were employed reported subjective benefits of adaptive gaming on employment through improvements in mental health, physical function, and cognition.PMID:38592947 | DOI:10.1080/17483107.2024.2339427 (Source: Disability and Rehabilitation. Issues Ment Health Nurs. 2024 Apr 9:1-9. doi: 10.1080/01612840.2024.2328251. Online ahead of print.ABSTRACTAutistic students experience elevated rates of school exclusion, whether this be through expulsion, suspension, informal suspension, refusal of enrolment, or school refusal. This exclusion can come about from a range of factors, including sensory or cognitive overload, a lack of training in neurodiversity for teachers, an absent sense of safety by the student at school, or poor attitudes towards the inclusion of autistic students in schools. The impacts of this exclusion on parents can be logistical, financial, and ps...
