For those preparing for the August exam, just curious to hear how you guys are going through the pharmacology section. Sketchy micro is f...ing awesome, but sketchy pharm just doesn't do it for me. (Source: Student Doctor Network)

Is this a feasible way to push back from Mid-level encroachment?
I have been interested in anesthesia for a long time, I love the skill set of an anesthesiologist and I find the pharmacology/physiology of the field extremely fascinating and rewarding. However, just like every other med student/pre med, am concerned about midlevel encroachment. After doing much research on the topic, it seems that the situation is that the nursing union is extremely aggressive and active and the ASA is not as aggressive in protecting the field. Do you think patient... Is this a feasible way to push back from Mid-level encroachment? (Source: Student Doctor Network)

Advice on my situation
I graduated from college with a chemistry pre-med degree in 2013 my cGPA was a 3.23. I did a few years of research in an Ochem lab and my favorite classes were my pharmacology classes. After college I was unsure which path I wanted to take so I didn’t do anything. I ended up getting involved in drugs and had struggled with that for a couple years. I finally got my feet back under me and have been sober for some time. After much research on different jobs, I am now interested in furthing my... Undergrad Classes that Helped Me MOST in MS1
Hello all, Just a bit of reflection about my first year of medical school. Hoping this motivates a few of you undergrads to push yourself next year or, for those of you planning out your last years of undergrad, to not plan a completely B.S. cushy schedule Classes: (we haven't gotten to micro/pharm/path yet so micro isn't listed) 1.) Human physiology (HUGE help) 2.) Human anatomy 3.) Cadaver anatomy (HUGE help) 4.) Immunology 5.) Pharmacology 6.)... Undergrad Classes that Helped Me MOST in MS1 (Source: Student Doctor Network)

Drugs and pharmacology during a code
Hello friends. I'm an EM resident right now, had to respond to a code on the ward the other night by myself and we got the patient back, however I did some stuff that isn't technically ACLS and was wondering if I could get some thoughts from the people that understand drugs more than me. Here are my questions: 1) How often do you all get asked to make drips during codes? And what has been your experience with their efficacy? 2) Are these pressors' affinity for different receptors dose... Drugs and pharmacology during a code (Source: Student Doctor Network)

Pharmacology Towards Science GPA?
I recently found this link https://aamc-orange.global.ssl.fastly.net/production/media/filer_public/e5/68/e5687e03-f55e-4ce6-a4e4-892eaab328dc/amcas_course_classification_guide.pdf It says "Pharmacy and Pharmacology" under "Health and Science" and not in the orange box. Does pharmacology really not count towards science GPA? This would be a pretty big hit to my GPA since I've gotten A's in most of my upper level science courses that have brought my science GPA up. To clarify, the... Pharmacology Towards Science GPA? (Source: Student Doctor Network)

Pharmacology question HELP
For doxycycline, more than 90% of the drug is bound to plasma proteins. It is also known that this drug is almost completely absorbed from the GI tract. I thought that drugs bound to plasma proteins cannot be absorbed to be distributed to the tissues. If more than 90% are bound to plasma proteins, how can doxycycline be almost completely absorbed from GI tract? Thanks in advance! (Source: Student Doctor Network)
