Classes that count as science according to AACOMAS
I was a bit confused about some of the classes I've taken:
HSC 4501 - Epidemiology of Chronic Diseases
GEY 3001 - Gerontology: An Interdisciplinary Overview
HUN 2201 - Fundamentals of Human Nutrition
HSC 3147 - Introduction to Pharmacology
On the AACOMAS website, all four of the above are listen under "Other Science" but they're listed as:
Epidemiology
Gerontology
Nutrition
Pharmacology
I'm wondering if the courses I listed qualify. They are the difference between my sGPA...

Anyone has advice/books/video links for studying pharmacology??
Hi all. For pharmacology does anyone have good study books / videos (if any available kaplan videos as those tend to be removal very quickly), questions, etc.
Of course I use my course notes and text but anything else beneficial would be helpful. (Source: Student Doctor Network)

Dismissed from DO School - Thinking about PharmD or PA
I was dismissed last year from DO school in my 4th year due to disciplinary reasons. I left early on-call and contacted hospitals about setting up core rotations. I learned my mistakes and want to move forward. I was thinking about applying to a 3 or 4 year PharmD program (or 2.5 year PA program) but not sure if they will consider me? I enjoyed pharmacology (pathology and clinical classes as well) and loved patient interaction in medical school, have worked as a pharm tech before, and also...

KISS pharmacology vs DIT Solid Series Pharmacology
Has anyone tried these series'? I have heard good things about KISSPharm and I really liked the sample video but I know they haven't been around as long as DIT. I hated the DIT videos and wondered if the Solid Series Pharmacology were delivered the same way. Any help would be greatly appreciated! Preparing for Step 1 at the end of this month! applying to med school after leaving PhD program
Hello all,
Thank you in advance for any responses. So years ago I had the intention of applying to medical school, but made some poor life choices which resulted in that not happening. I ended up going into the corporate world where I worked in IT (trained Physicians and medical staff on how to use an EMR) and by that point I felt my science knowledge wasn't strong enough anymore to take the MCAT. I decided to apply to grad school and was accepted into a Pharmacology PhD program (I am...

SGU or Grad School
Hello Everyone,
So the SGU deposit of $4000 is due on friday. I am waitlisted at LECOM and have gotten into a Masters of Pharmacology at Upstate Medical Campus. My stats are gpa 3.3 and Mcat 24 (6/9/9). My worry is by going to the Masters program and retaking my mcat (which is the new one now and I really do not want to take... also don't know how much more studying I could have done for my first one) I may not do any better and be stuck in the same situation in 2 years where its either SGU...

Desperate, can I get into pharmacy school?
Graduated from university majoring in Biopsychology which is like neuroscience mixed with some psychology. Deals with brain chemicals and pharmacology etc... Avg Gpa is 3.1 with 2.9 science gpa after taking some post bac classes. Post bac classes avg around 3.4 such as anatomy,physio,biochem,etc...
I see pharmacy school as the only way for me to get out of the crappy job I am in. I worked in retail before and some other jobs so I can deal with working as a pharmacist for a retail chain....

Best book for intern year (baby miller vs the new baby barash)
I am trying to pick a first book to read during intern year. I am looking for a good basic book that is easy to read. I want something that will be good preparation for the ITE and give me a head start going in to CA1 year. From reading other threads it looks like baby miller might fit that need. I wanted to know if anyone had thoughts on the new book by barash. It seems like a good book with an introduction to physiology, pharmacology and basic anesthesia and seems to have good reviews. Has...
