Lack of education about fluoroquinolones?
I'm curious as to why this is taught so poorly, at least from my perspective. I didn't get much info in molecular pharmacology nor antimicrobial classes. even after asking the professors they shrugged it off. it seems like these antibiotics keep hitting the news, permanent nerve damage, disability from tendon rupture (not just achilles). I've trolled NCBI for specific studies and it's surprising how much information is out there on ciprofloxacin/levofloxacin etc that's not taught in any... Lack of education about fluoroquinolones? Wolters Kluwer/lexicomp + other active promos
I figured this would be a good place to share discounts we've discovered on references pharmacists and students use on a daily basis. Despite having Clinical Pharmacology available to me through my employer, I still subscribe to Lexi-Complete as a person preference. I typically do 3 years at a time and I'm up for renewal soon. Unfortunately I just missed a 25% off code that expired 12/31. Currently the best I've is "RENEW2017" for 10% off. Hopefully someone benefits from my code or has a... Any medical podcasts similar to Joe Rogans style?
I know there's a ton of medical podcasts out there but they're all very formal I was just wondering if there's any relaxed/interesting medical podcasts out there where they discuss topics etc that may be beneficial? I like to listen to podcasts while I study it seems to make time go faster but if I could get podcasts related to a topic i'm studying then that would be great, e.g if i'm studying Pharmacology and they're discussing maybe Michael jacksons death and the drugs involved but in a... Sacrifice Class Rank for Step 1
Ok. So I've heard of people dropping school to study for step 1, but that in my mind that seems convoluted because you are learning what shows up on Step 1 in your courses. For me though, I have to take 2 classes at my school that are very non step 1 related but they are worth a ton of credits. I focus alot of my energy on Pathology, Pharmacology and Microbiology and do very well but end up just getting by in the rest of the classes that won't help me in Step 1. Is it that bad to not focus... Sacrifice Class Rank for Step 1 (Source: Student Doctor Network)

Would anesthesiology be a good fit for me?
A little bit about me, I enjoy pharmacology. I love knowing about how drugs work on a human body. I was quite into art when I was younger. I'm fairly quiet and I believe that I have a genuine care to help people. I especially like caring for children and have always been told I have a way with them. Sometimes I feel I am too empathetic to become a surgeon, that even though they are anaesthetised, I could feel their pain. Please tell me I'm not the only one who thinks like this. I do like... 3.0 ... I messed up.
Hello everyone, I just needed some advice and would really appreciate any sort of help. I graduated a few years ago with a 3.0 oGPA and a 2.8 sGPA. I have no real excuse for my sub-optimal performance in undergrad. I just lacked motivation as I had no clue what I wanted to do with my life at the time. During undergrad, I did not have any real upper trend. Unfortunately, during my senior year I failed my Pharmacology class. Fast forward to a few years later, I have been enrolled in a... 3.0 ... Advice 4 new pharmacist
hello I see there are a lot of experienced pharmacists on the board, and I would love some advice: What are the main characterists or qualities that are sought for a pharmacist to be hired? I have spoken with some "new" pharmacists hired and my impression is that they know relatively little about pharmacology/pathology/pharmaceuticals etc. Actually, I am more shocked, but to be fair my sample size of new pharmacists is limited. It seems that the quality of school or actual mastery of... Advice 4 new pharmacist (Source: Student Doctor Network)
