Sulfa allergy -Meloxicam
Hey guys, had a patient with sulfa/sulfonamides allergy who I dispensed Meloxicam. Pt states that sulfa is in meloxicam structure so she is having anaphylactic reaction due to taking Meloxicam 8 hours earlier I checked Lexicom/Clinical pharmacology, and I just cant find it being as contraindication... Of course, pt is threatening to go to a hospital/sue/etc... Am I overlooking it as a contraindication? Can you guys double check me? (Source: Student Doctor Network)

Step 3 experience 2019
This is an img taking step 3 before application cycle. Didn’t see any recent thread for step 3 so decided to create one. Day one: Had a terrible exam. Had lots of biostat, drug ads, pharmacology and about 10 biochemistry. Was flagging every alternate questions and not sure even in the unflagged one. Made some very silly mistakes as well which I could recall immediately in the break. Day 2: Took it 2 days later. Questions were easier then day I but definitely tougher than rest of steps. No... Dr. Rick Barnett on prescribing rights for psychologists. Thoughts?
Video is about an hour, but essentially he is a doctorate level psychologist that did a masters program in biomedical pharmacology. I hope to be a psychiatrist one day, but I do feel he made some good points in his favor. Was just curious what those actually practicing might think about it... (Source: Student Doctor Network)

Two days into my very first anesthesiology rotation, and I've got more questions than answers!
I did this rotation kind of on a whim -- I liked the pharmacology and physiology aspect that I was exposed to during my preclinical sciences and even when while studying for my Step 1 (ie blood-gas coefficient, PEEP, MAC, etc. these kinds of things). I don't think I have the personality for surgery, although, I have not yet done my surgery rotation (I've found myself paying attention to the surgeon during the operation more so, sometimes I need to remind myself to return my attention to the... Three Questions for practicing anesthesiologists.
Hate procedures, love pharmacology AND physiology (a lot), hate rounding and incessant note writing, love some downtime during the day. Is anesthesia a good field to consider given these metrics? If a person is especially bad at procedures/hand coordination, is anesthesia a good field to go into if you put in major time during residency to learn these skills/get better at them (e.g mannequins, constant repetition even when off service)? What are the procedures that constitute 95% of what... Three Questions for practicing anesthesiologists. (Source: Student Doctor Network)

Some questions in the patient algorithm on adverse drug reactions (ADRs) use inconsistent binary logic as four of them lack & quot;No & quot; responses.

Canadian Applying to USMD - Help with School List/Any Advice Appreciated!
Greetings! I am a non-traditional Canadian applicant applying to USMD schools for the first time in the upcoming 2019-2020 cycle. I bought the MSAR and have compiled a list of schools that I believe I have the best chance at as a Canadian applicant. I was hoping I could get some feedback on this list - perhaps I missed something. Any/all insights are very much appreciated!
